Speculations about development issues with the Samsung Galaxy S26 series are taking on more concrete outlines. According to South Korean daily Money Today, Samsung has definitively decided to unveil the next generation of flagship phones on February 25, 2026, in San Francisco. This means a one-month delay compared to this year’s Galaxy S25 series, which debuted on January 22.

Canceled Edge complicates plans

Money Today states that the main reason for the postponement is changes in product strategy – nothing new, in other words. As we already know, Samsung originally planned to replace the Plus model with an Edge variant, but due to weak sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge, it decided to return to the proven trio – base model, Plus, and Ultra. This change required additional development of the Galaxy S26 Plus model, which the company is now catching up on in record time.

The delay is also reflected in the production schedule. While the Galaxy S26 Ultra will enter mass production as early as December, the base model will follow in January, and the problematic Galaxy S26 Plus not until February 2026. Samsung is thus losing the advantage of an early premiere, which it has had over competitors in recent years.

Exynos 2600 reportedly also plays a role

Another factor, according to Korean sources, is the development of its own Exynos 2600 processor, which should power all three models, including the Ultra version. However, it is likely that phones with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will arrive in at least some markets.

According to available information, the Exynos 2600 chipset is expected to achieve top-tier performance – in Geekbench tests, which media and leakers highlighted last week, it scored 3,455 points in the single-core and 11,621 points in the multi-core test. Today, we found a post on the social network X (see below) allegedly documenting scores of 3,960 and 12,121 points. However, we cannot further verify its authenticity.

San Francisco due to emphasis on AI

The choice of San Francisco as the premiere location is not accidental. Money Today cites sources close to Samsung, according to which the company wants to emphasize its focus on artificial intelligence. San Francisco is considered the center of the AI industry, and Samsung last unveiled the Galaxy S23 series there in 2023.

Does the postponement of the Galaxy S26 premiere to late February bother you?
