While competitors are fine-tuning details, the Koreans plan to turn the entire hierarchy upside down. According to exclusive renders that appeared on the SmartPrix website, the basic Galaxy S26 will disappear and be replaced by a Pro model. The Plus version is definitively dead, and an ultra-thin Edge is taking its place. And that’s not all by a long shot. Galaxy S26 Pro: when the base model gets an upgrade Galaxy S26 Ultra finally rounds its edges Galaxy S26 Edge: when Samsung copies Apple What does this mean for customers? Galaxy S26 Pro: when the base model gets an upgrade Imagine going to buy a basic Galaxy S and the salesperson telling you it’s actually a Pro now. That’s exactly what Samsung is preparing. The Galaxy S26 Pro is set to replace the classic version, which makes sense. The design is changing significantly. Instead of recessed lenses that protruded from an otherwise flat back, the S26 Pro will get an elevated camera module similar to the Z Fold 7. Metal rings will appear around the lenses, and the flash will move to the right side of the module. The phone will be just 6.7 millimeters thin, and the 6.27-inch display will gain even thinner bezels than the current generation. KOUPIT GALAXY S25 EDGE ZA 23 990 KČ Under the hood, we’ll find either the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 for Galaxy manufactured with a 3nm process, or Samsung’s own Exynos 2600 with 2nm architecture. This is paired with up to 12 GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. The camera combines a 50Mpx main sensor, a 12Mpx ultrawide lens, and a 10Mpx telephoto lens. The 4,300 mAh battery will handle 45W wired charging and, for the first time, magnetic Qi2 wireless charging. Galaxy S26 Ultra finally rounds its edges It looks like the Galaxy S26 Ultra will take another step towards rounded edges. Not that it will be a bubble like the base model, but the difference compared to the S25 Ultra should be noticeable. Dimensions of 163.4 × 77.9 × 7.8 mm suggest a slight increase, but the 6.9-inch AMOLED display will compensate for it. Samsung will implement new Color-on-Emitter (CoE) technology for better contrast and the third generation of anti-reflective glass. Performance will be exclusively handled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 for Galaxy – no Exynos for the Ultra. Memory configurations go up to 16 GB RAM and 1TB storage. The camera will get an upgrade: a 200Mpx main sensor with a brighter aperture, a 50Mpx periscopic telephoto lens (also brighter), a 50Mpx ultrawide lens, and an improved 12Mpx classic telephoto lens. The biggest change? Charging. After years of stagnation, Samsung is finally speeding up – 60W wired charging is still slow compared to Chinese competitors, but it’s an improvement over the current 45W. The battery remains at 5,000 mAh, and magnetic Qi2 will be added. Galaxy S26 Edge: when Samsung copies Apple This is where it gets interesting. The Galaxy S26 Edge has a thickness of just 5.5 millimeters at its thinnest point, making it a direct competitor to the upcoming iPhone 17 Air. But Samsung did something no one expected – it copied Apple’s design even before Apple had a chance to release it. Jakub Kárník News Jakub Kárník News The back will feature a massive horizontal bar across the entire width of the phone, which protrudes from the back and increases the thickness to 10.8 mm. The bar houses two cameras (200Mpx main and 12Mpx ultrawide) plus an LED flash. The display has a diagonal of 6.7 inches with QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Performance will be provided by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, memory will offer up to 12 GB RAM and 512GB storage. The 4,300 mAh battery supports magnetic Qi2 charging, but we don’t know anything about wired charging speeds yet. What does this mean for customers? Samsung is making the biggest change to its flagship series in the last five years. The end of the Plus model makes sense – it sold poorly. The Edge targets those who want a thin phone and are willing to sacrifice battery life. KOUPIT GALAXY S25 EDGE ZA 23 990 KČ Magnetic Qi2 charging across the entire lineup will finally bring an accessory ecosystem to Android that the iPhone (and now also Pixel 10) has enjoyed for years. Power banks, car mounts, stands – everything will work magnetically without unsightly rings glued to the back. What do you think of the first look at the new Samsungs?
