There are many portable projectors on the market, but not many that can handle Google TV with integrated Netflix and still fit in your hand. Soundcore Nebula Capsule 3 has now dropped to 9,577 CZK with discount code ALZADNY25, which, according to price history, is its all-time low. Upon its release last spring, it cost 13,499 CZK.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you are looking for a maximally portable projector for a cottage, camping, for evening screenings in the living room, or for travel in hotels where you want to bypass an old TV.
⚠️ Consider carefully if you want to project in daylight or are looking for a projector as the main screen for a bright living room – 200 ANSI lumens won’t handle that.
💡 At 9,577 CZK, this is the historically lowest price for one of the most compact projectors with Google TV and built-in Netflix on the market.

Why this projector is interesting

The main draw of the Nebula Capsule 3 from soundcore lies in the combination of extremely small dimensions (78 × 78 × 160 mm), a weight of just 850 g, and the full-fledged operating system Google TV. It fits into a backpack, a handbag, or on a hotel nightstand – and at the same time, it has everything you expect from a modern smart projector. Unlike cheaper mini projectors, it doesn’t need a Chromecast stick or a connected phone; all applications run natively on the device.

Key parameters in plain language

The projector projects in native Full HD resolution (1920 × 1080) with a 16:9 aspect ratio and covers 90% of the P3 color space, which is a very decent figure for this price category. The maximum image diagonal is 304 cm (120″) at a projection distance of up to 3.18 m. Brightness of 200 ANSI lumens is the limit for this category – sufficient for a darkened room or evening outdoor projection, but not for daylight. The LED lamp has a lifespan of up to 30,000 hours, which at three hours a day will last over 27 years.

Smart features include automatic image correction, autofocus, and obstacle avoidance on the wall – all reportedly within three seconds. In practice, users confirm that the projector automatically adjusts itself into a regular rectangle and sharpens the image, so you just need to place it on a table and start a movie. Integrated Google TV with Chromecast means direct access to Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Amazon Prime, Voyo, YouTube, and other streaming services without the need for an external device. Control is via a remote control with backlit buttons or by voice via Google Assistant.

Practical aspects: battery, sound, ports

A big plus is the built-in battery with up to 2.5 hours of movie projection or 10 hours of music playback. In practice, this means you can watch one full movie without a power outlet – ideal for camping, a cottage, or garden projection. Charging is via USB-C, and the projector also works with a standard charger with sufficient power, so you don’t have to carry the original one.

Sound is handled by two 8W speakers with Dolby Audio support, which is surprisingly loud and spatial for a projector of this size. For evening screenings, it’s sufficient without external speakers – reviewers confirm this. If you want better sound, Bluetooth 5.1, AUX output, or WiFi are available for connecting your own soundbar. On the body, you’ll find HDMI, USB-C, USB 2.0, and a USB port, so connecting a laptop, game console, or flash drive is not a problem. A bonus is a classic tripod thread, allowing you to mount the projector on a standard photo tripod.

What users say

On Alza, the projector has a rating of 4.9 out of 5 (15 ratings) and 100% of customers recommend it. The return rate is at 2.25%. Most often, people praise its compact size, ease of setup (just turn on and project, no searching for cables or reconnecting), and surprisingly usable brightness in the dark. One user, who also owns the previous generation Capsule 2, confirms that the sound is “absolutely fine” for such a small box. Another mentions that automatic geometry correction works reliably – the projector itself turns a skewed image into a correct rectangle and avoids obstacles.

The negatives focus on a few specific things. A recurring and entirely expected issue is low brightness in daylight – at 200 ANSI lumens, projection in a bright room or outdoors during the day simply makes no sense. One user described a problem with uncontrolled HDR activation and subsequent image flickering in some movies where they couldn’t turn HDR off. Another reviewer states that they couldn’t cast the image from their phone, even though the projector supports Chromecast. There are also minor UX criticisms, specifically that the sleep timer is hidden deep in the settings and that image or gamma cannot be adjusted in game mode.

When it doesn’t make sense

If you are looking for a projector as the main screen for your living room, where you will watch news in the morning, sports in the afternoon, and series in the evening, this is not the solution. 200 ANSI lumens simply cannot cope with ambient light – projection will only be functional in darkness or in the evening. For this role, stationary projectors with 1,000+ ANSI lm brightness or laser TV boxes are more suitable, but they are in a completely different price league.

Second case: if you need a high refresh rate for console gaming, native 3D, or detailed image tuning in game mode, this model will frustrate you. It is clearly aimed at movie and series audiences, not hardcore gamers. The Capsule 3 is best where other projectors can’t reach – at a cottage, campsite, in the living room before bed, or on vacation instead of a hotel TV.

Verdict: who it’s worth it for

For 9,577 CZK, you get one of the most compact projectors with Google TV and direct access to Netflix, which can be taken practically anywhere – and can handle an evening movie on battery power. This is the historically lowest price, and given that this model cost 13,499 CZK upon its release in April 2025, a saving of 3,913 CZK compared to the regular price makes sense. If you want a portable projector for a cottage, camping, or evening movies with kids on the ceiling before falling asleep, it’s a reasonable purchase. Conversely, if you need projection in daylight or a versatile main device for your living room, look for models with higher brightness.

Do you use a portable projector more as a TV supplement for evening movies, or as a solution for travel and camping?
