If you’ve been eyeing a QD-OLED monitor in recent months but were put off by the price, we have good news for you. The Philips 34M2C6500 from the Evnia gaming series is currently hitting its price minimum on Alza. With code ALZADNY15, you can get it for 13,396 CZK, which is more than 40% less than its launch two years ago, when, according to Heureka data, it started at a price exceeding 23 thousand CZK.

QD-OLED panel with superb contrast

The main draw of the monitor is its 34-inch QD-OLED panel with 1800R curvature and a 21:9 aspect ratio. The technology combines the advantages of OLED displays – perfect blacks and virtually infinite contrast – with quantum dots, which ensure high brightness and vibrant colors. The manufacturer states 99.3% DCI-P3 color space coverage, which will be appreciated even by those who use the monitor for photo or video editing.

The 3440 × 1440 pixel resolution represents a reasonable compromise between sharpness and performance demands. Unlike 4K monitors, the graphics card doesn’t have to render as many pixels here, but you still get a sufficiently detailed image for both work and gaming. The panel features DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 certification, which guarantees faithful display of HDR content with deep shadows.

For gamers: 175 Hz and negligible response time

The Philips 34M2C6500 is primarily aimed at gamers, which is reflected in its 175Hz refresh rate (via DisplayPort 1.4) and a declared response time of just 0.03 ms. Support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for tear-free frame synchronization is a given. The monitor also received VESA ClearMR 9000 certification, which confirms minimal blurring of fast-moving objects.

There are two HDMI 2.0 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4, so you can connect both a PC and a gaming console simultaneously. Also included is a USB hub with two ports (one with fast charging) and a headphone output. The monitor can be wall-mounted thanks to its 100 × 100 mm VESA mount.

Who is the monitor suitable for?

The Philips 34M2C6500 makes sense for gamers who want premium QD-OLED image quality without having to invest in larger and more expensive models. The 21:9 ultrawide format is perfectly suited for racing games, simulators, or RPG titles, where you’ll appreciate the wider field of view. It’s equally pleasing when working with multiple windows side-by-side.

Conversely, competitive FPS players should consider whether 175 Hz is sufficient for them – many monitors offer 240 Hz or more. Also, WQHD resolution may not suit those who require maximum overview on a large area. And if you plan to spend hours daily with static content on the monitor, be aware of the burn-in risk typical for OLED technology – although Philips uses a graphene shield for better heat dissipation.
