While the beta version of One UI 8 with Android 16 has been running on selected Samsung devices for some time, we are still waiting for the stable version. Although the Korean giant has not released an official schedule, thanks to a recent leak, we now know when individual Galaxy models should receive the coveted update. And if you own one of the newer phones, you have something to look forward to in just a few days.

Galaxy S25 series will receive the update first

Unsurprisingly, the latest flagships will be first in line – Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra will receive the stable One UI 8 on September 18. A week later, on September 25, owners of last year’s Galaxy S24 series, including the FE variant, the new Galaxy S25 Edge, and also mid-range models – Galaxy A56 5G and A36 5G – will get it.

Interestingly, Samsung has this time prioritized some older models over newer ones. For example, last year’s foldable Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 will receive the update on October 2, the same day as the year-older Galaxy S23 series. This might disappoint some owners of premium foldables, but it is likely due to technical reasons related to optimization for specific hardware.

October will mark a massive rollout

October will be the busiest month for One UI 8 distribution. On October 1, owners of Galaxy Tab S10 tablets, as well as Galaxy Watch7, Watch6, and Watch FE watches, will receive it. In the following days, Samsung will gradually cover older flagship models, mid-range devices, and rugged XCover series phones.

Among the interesting points is that the Galaxy S21 FE will receive the update earlier than the entire Galaxy S22 series. The latter will get it on October 6. Popular mid-range models like the Galaxy A55 5G will receive the update on the same day, while the older Galaxy A54 5G will get it on October 13, along with the Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 foldables.

What does this mean for Czech users?

It is important to emphasize that this schedule primarily applies to Asian markets. In Europe, including the Czech Republic, dates may vary, usually being several days to weeks later. Samsung also traditionally prioritizes some regions over others, so if you own a phone purchased outside official distribution, you might have to wait longer.

The good news is that One UI 8 will bring Android 16 support to a wide range of devices, including models several years old. This confirms Samsung’s commitment to providing long-term software support – some models on the list are already four years old.

Of course, take the schedule with a grain of salt. This is an unofficial leak of information, and Samsung may still adjust the dates. However, we definitely see that the Korean company is working intensively on the update, and it should reach the vast majority of supported devices within the next two months.

Is your device on the list?
