On Monday, we informed you that Samsung officially began distributing the stable version of One UI 8 to the first Galaxy S25 devices. Now, the South Korean giant has published a detailed update schedule for the Brazilian market, which indicates when owners of older models can expect the new software. The timeline includes not only months but even specific weeks when individual devices will receive the update.

Brazilian schedule reveals surprisingly fast pace

According to the official schedule published in Samsung’s Brazilian newsroom, the One UI 8 update will begin rolling out very quickly. As early as September 25, last year’s flagship models Galaxy S24 (all variants including FE), foldables Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, and surprisingly also the upcoming mid-range models Galaxy A56 5G and A36 5G should receive the update.

From October 2, the update will then extend to the year-before-last’s Galaxy S23 series, last year’s foldables Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, and selected mid-range models such as Galaxy A55 5G or A35 5G. Galaxy Tab S10 tablets should receive it at the same time.

Older models like Galaxy S22 or Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 are scheduled from October 6, while some A-series models and older tablets will have to wait until mid-to-late October.

What does this mean for the Czech market?

Although this schedule is primarily intended for the Brazilian market, Samsung typically adheres to similar timelines across regions. However, it is important to note that the Czech schedule may differ slightly.

Samsung mentioned in a Czech press release that all supported devices will receive One UI 8 by the end of 2025. The Brazilian schedule suggests that most models could receive it as early as September and October, which is a significantly faster pace than with previous updates.

Key New Features of One UI 8 in Brief

The new One UI 8 version brings significant improvements in artificial intelligence, which adapts to the user’s context and needs. Key new features include:

• Personalized AI features include the Now Bar, which displays current events directly on the screen, and the Now Brief app with an overview of personalized information, including traffic news or health data from Galaxy Watch.
• Enhanced security introduces a new Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection architecture, which creates encrypted storage spaces for individual applications. The Knox Matrix system automatically logs out compromised devices from the Samsung account.
• Multimodal artificial intelligence with Gemini Live support enables natural communication with the AI assistant. The Circle to Search feature can translate text in real-time or display tips during gameplay.
• For foldable owners, Samsung has optimized the interface to better utilize the flexible display’s capabilities. Features like Sound Eraser remove unwanted noise from videos, while Portrait Studio creates professional photos using AI.

When to check for update availability?

If you own one of the supported Galaxy models, we recommend regularly checking for update availability in the Settings > Software Update menu. Given the Brazilian schedule, owners of Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 could expect it as early as late September, while other models will follow gradually during October.

Samsung confirmed that all supported devices will receive One UI 8 before the end of 2025, which currently seems like a realistic goal.
