Proper WiFi 7 routers still cost a fortune. Acer Predator Connect T7 is one of the few exceptions – it supports the latest standard at the price of regular routers that don’t support the 6GHz band. The Predator gaming brand indicates the target group, but you can use it even without a console.

WiFi 7 at a great price

The router operates in tri-band mode – simultaneously broadcasting on 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz. The theoretical speed is up to 10,755 Mb/s, with support for MU-MIMO and OneMesh for network extension with extenders. The hardware has 1 GB RAM and 512 MB flash. The ports are more modest – 1× WAN, 2× LAN, and 1× USB 2.0. It’s sufficient for a household, but if you need more wired devices, you’ll have to get a switch.

Easy setup, weaker documentation

On Alza, the router has a rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 9 customers. They praise its easy installation, speed, and the ability to turn off backlighting at night. Criticism is directed at the weaker signal (compact mesh design = smaller antennas), long restart times, and minimal advanced settings. One user experienced problems with VR communication between devices – the technical documentation is weak.
