The robotic vacuum cleaner market in the Czech Republic is relatively saturated, but Xiaomi believes it has an ace up its sleeve. The new Robot Vacuum H40 has arrived in Europe with a parameter that will impress everyone – a suction power of 10,000 Pa. This is a value typically found only in more expensive models (with some Roborock models being an exception). In the Czech Republic, the new product is available for 7,599 crowns, placing it in an interesting mid-range category.

It is essentially the global version of last year’s Chinese model MIJIA H40, which had “only” 6,000 Pa. Xiaomi therefore almost doubled the performance for the European market, which makes sense – local customers are more focused on performance than on smart features.

Self-emptying once every three months? The reality is different

The main advantage of the H40 is its self-emptying station with a 4-liter dustbin. Xiaomi claims it only needs to be emptied once every three months, but this is only true if you don’t vacuum daily. In a typical household with children or pets, expect monthly intervals. Still, it’s more convenient than emptying the dustbin after every cleaning.

The vacuum cleaner offers four cleaning modes – Silent, Standard, Strong, and Turbo. In silent mode, it can clean for up to 180 minutes on a single charge thanks to its 5,200 mAh battery. In Turbo mode with full power, it naturally lasts for a shorter period, but Xiaomi does not specify exact figures.

Mopping as a bonus, not a main feature

The H40 can not only vacuum but also mop thanks to its 210ml water tank. However, don’t be misled – this is basic wiping, not active scrubbing like with more expensive models. The mop simply drags across the floor and dampens it, which is sufficient for light dirt but won’t remove dried stains. At this price, however, it’s a standard solution.

Navigation is provided by the LDS system (laser scanner), which creates a map of the household. Through the Xiaomi Home app, you can set forbidden zones, schedule cleaning, or track where the robot is currently cleaning.

It has a special brush to prevent hair tangling

Xiaomi has implemented an anti-tangle brush, which should prevent hair from getting tangled. In practice, it works better than with older models, but don’t expect miracles – long hair can still get tangled occasionally. The advantage is that the brush can be easily removed and cleaned.

In the package, you’ll find everything you need: a self-emptying station, side brushes, a mopping pad, and a dust bag. Xiaomi also includes a spare side brush, which is a nice gesture.

Is it worth it?

The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum H40 is not revolutionary, but it offers a solid price/performance ratio. The high suction power will be appreciated by owners of carpets and pets, while self-emptying will appeal to those who don’t want to think about the vacuum cleaner every day. For less than 8,000 crowns, it’s a reasonable choice for medium-sized households.

The biggest disadvantage is the absence of advanced mopping functions – if you have a lot of hard floors and truly want to wash them, not just wipe them, you’ll need to invest more. However, for regular cleaning, the H40 is more than sufficient and, in this price category, it’s among the better options you can buy.
