Xiaomi announced on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo that in just 15 months since entering the market, it has already delivered 300,000 electric vehicles to Chinese customers. The sales pace is astounding – on average, the company delivers 647 vehicles daily, which corresponds to approximately 27 cars every hour. The current model portfolio of the Chinese tech giant includes three models: the SU7 sedan, the SU7 Ultra sports car, and the latest YU7 SUV.

Impressive Growth in Deliveries

The path to this success began in March 2024, when Xiaomi officially started deliveries of its first electric vehicle, the SU7. To reach the first 100,000 vehicles, the company needed more than seven months. However, the next 100,000 took only four months, and the company managed the third hundred thousand in just three and a half months. It is remarkable that while last year Xiaomi delivered an average of 511 vehicles daily, this year this number has increased to 840 electric vehicles every day.

Three Models in a Growing Portfolio

The main driver of sales remains the original Xiaomi SU7 sedan, which debuted in December 2023 and was launched on the market on March 28, 2024. In February this year, the company expanded its offering with the SU7 Ultra sports model, which features significantly higher performance and a premium price. The latest addition is the Xiaomi YU7 crossover, which was unveiled on June 26, and the first vehicles only started reaching customers on July 6, 2025.

The popularity of Xiaomi vehicles is also reflected in the extending waiting times. Those interested in the basic SU7 model have to wait 33 to 42 weeks, while the waiting time for the SU7 Ultra sports version is significantly shorter – 6 to 18 weeks. However, customers will wait the longest for the new YU7 crossover, for which the delivery time is 40 to 60 weeks, indicating exceptional interest in this model.

Ambitious Future Plans

For this year, Xiaomi Auto has set a sales target of 350,000 vehicles. As of July 10, the company has already delivered 160,513 electric vehicles, which represents 45.7% of the planned volume. To increase production capacity, the company is launching the second phase (F2) of its factory in Beijing, which should help meet the growing demand for all models.

It is fascinating to see how quickly Xiaomi has established itself in the electric vehicle market. Founder and Chairman Lei Jun only founded the automotive division in 2021, and in just four years, he has managed to build a brand that is becoming a significant player in the Chinese electric vehicle market.

The question remains when Xiaomi electric vehicles will appear on European or even Czech roads. The company previously stated that it plans to expand to countries outside its homeland by 2027. In Germany, the SU7 Ultra sports model has already received official certification, which we informed you about earlier this month.
