Xiaomi introduced an extremely cheap monitor! It has USB-C, 1440p resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate

Xiaomi has a fairly diverse portfolio of monitors, some of which occasionally make their way to us. It recently introduced an improved version of the Redmi A27Q model, designated 2026, which brings one significant new feature: a USB-C port with support for up to 90W charging. In practice, this means you can get by with a single cable – through it, you send the image to the monitor and simultaneously charge your laptop or mini PC. This reduces cable clutter on your desk.

One Cable Instead of Three

The main benefit of the new Redmi A27Q 2026 is simple: you connect your laptop with a USB-C cable, and you have both video and power sorted. You don’t need to carry a separate HDMI cable and a separate charger, which is especially useful for ultrabooks or gaming handhelds like the Steam Deck. The monitor delivers up to 90 watts, which is sufficient for most 13–15-inch laptops, but more powerful 16″ or 17″ gaming machines will require their own power source.

The condition is that your device supports USB-C charging – which is true for most modern laptops today, but older models or desktops with a USB-C output may not have this feature. In such a case, the USB-C port on the monitor will only function as a classic DisplayPort Alternate Mode.

Parameters: 27 Inches, 1440p, and 120 Hz

The panel itself is a 27-inch IPS with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels (Quad HD) and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi declares 100% sRGB and 95% DCI-P3 coverage, which is a solid foundation for everyday work and entertainment. Also noteworthy is the stated color deviation Delta E of less than 1 directly from the factory.

Connectors and Ergonomics

In addition to USB-C, the monitor also offers DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0, so you can connect a desktop or an older laptop in the classic way. The USB-C port also functions as a USB 3.0 hub with two ports – you can connect a mouse, keyboard, or flash drive to the monitor and have them available via a single cable to your laptop.

Ergonomically, the Redmi A27Q 2026 is well-equipped: it supports tilt, swivel, and height adjustment, plus it has a standard VESA mount for attachment to an arm or wall. This is not a given for monitors in this price category.

Price and Availability: China Only for Now

The Redmi A27Q 2026 is currently sold only in China for a price equivalent to approximately 2,600 CZK. This is an extremely favorable sum for a 27″ 1440p monitor with 120 Hz, USB-C, and solid color accuracy. The problem is that Xiaomi has not yet confirmed a global launch, so it is unclear if the monitor will reach Europe, and if so, at what price.
