Xiaomi introduced another air purifier. The improved 'six' cleans faster and runs almost silently Home News Xiaomi globally introduced the new Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 Plus According to the manufacturer, the model with two turbines and two filters can handle spaces up to 91 m² In silent mode, it is supposed to run at only 19.4 dB, quieter than a whisper Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 2. 7. 2026 14:30 Advertisement Clean air at home is not just a concern for allergy sufferers today. Dust from a busy street, pollen in spring, pet hair, or a newly renovated apartment that still “breathes” the smell of adhesives and paints for months – the reasons to get an air purifier are increasing. Xiaomi is now adding another piece to this category. The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 Plus has appeared on the brand’s global pages and its parameters are close to the current top model Max – just in a slimmer and quieter design. Two Turbines and 810 m³/h Airflow At the heart of the new product is a tower design with only one motor, but a pair of impellers and two filters. It draws air from three sides and propels it with so-called dual airflow, allowing Xiaomi to state a flow rate of up to 12,666 liters per minute. This translates into a number that makes sense even without a calculator: the CADR performance for particulate matter reaches 810 m³/h (nominally 760 m³/h, the measured value is higher). This is almost double what the basic ‘six’ can do. Higher performance also means a larger space. The manufacturer states that the 6 Plus can handle a room with an area of 53 to 91 m², so it’s not limited to a bedroom but can also manage a large living room or open-plan spaces. The dimensions have remained modest – the body measures 280 × 280 × 713 millimeters, so it’s still a narrow column, not a bulky cabinet. How does it handle formaldehyde and viruses? Filtration relies on a high-efficiency HEPA filter, designed to capture fine particles, pollen, and allergens, and an activated carbon layer targeting formaldehyde and odors. Xiaomi states the CADR for formaldehyde at 234 m³/h and reports 98% formaldehyde removal within two hours. However, these and similar figures come from laboratories hired by the brand (tests conducted by Chinese testing centers such as CVC Testing and Guangzhou Institute of Microbiology), so we cannot independently verify them – consider them ideal conditions, not a guarantee for your living room. Hygiene is also handled by a UVC module, which, according to the manufacturer, is designed to neutralize 99.99% of the H1N1 influenza virus and 99.9% of various bacteria within one hour. Additionally, the air is further purified by a negative ion generator. A set of five sensors provides information about the room’s conditions – measuring PM1 and PM2.5 particles, dust, temperature, and humidity – and everything runs through the Xiaomi Home app, where you can set modes, a timer, and monitor filter life. A pleasant bonus is the noise level. In silent mode, the unit is supposed to whisper at just 19.4 dB(A), a value at which the device won’t wake you up at night. For comparison: we already wrote about the basic ‘six’ when it arrived in the Czech Republic, and that one manages about 32 dB in sleep mode. Xiaomi introduced another air purifier. Compared to the basic model, it’s a big leap – almost double the performance, dual filtration, and significantly quieter operation. Against the Max, on the other hand, it loses only slightly: the flagship has a higher flow rate, one additional UVC module, six sensors (including a formaldehyde sensor, which the Plus lacks), and can clean an even larger hall. However, the performance difference between the 6 Plus and the Max is smaller than I would have expected – the slimmer new model could thus be a smarter choice for anyone who doesn’t explicitly need the largest area. And here, enthusiasm needs to be tempered. Xiaomi has only shown the new product on its global pages so far, it has not yet announced the price or date for the Czech market, and a specific amount in another currency is also missing. Roughly, it can only be estimated from surrounding models: the basic ‘six’ costs 3,990 CZK here and the Max 9,990 CZK, so the 6 Plus should logically fit somewhere in between. However, whether and when it will officially reach the Czech market, no one has said yet. Would you opt for the slimmer 6 Plus, or go straight for the most powerful Max?
