Xiaomi introduced its first portable coffee maker. You can brew espresso even on the go Home News It costs approximately 2,500 CZK in conversion, and on Chinese crowdfunding, starting June 17, it will be a fifth cheaper However, the built-in battery, without pre-heated water, is only sufficient for a little over three cups Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 18. 6. 2026 00:30 Advertisement Dobrá káva mimo domov obvykle znamená drahé latte z řetězce, nebo instantní kompromis. Xiaomi teď nabízí třetí cestu: přenosný kávovar Mijia, který se vejde do batohu i držáku na lahev a espresso pod tlakem 20 barů uvaří prakticky kdekoliv. Poradí si s kapslemi i mletou kávou, horkou i studenou přípravou a dobíjí se přes USB-C. Cenu pro Česko ale výrobce zatím neoznámil. Espresso z batohu? Kávovar Mijia vsází na kapsle i mletou kávu The design resembles a thermos – Xiaomi states a height of 24.5 cm and a width of only 7.15 cm, so it fits into a car’s cup holder and a backpack’s side pocket. Inside, an electromagnetic pump with a pressure of up to 20 bars operates, a value also offered by common home lever espresso machines. The brewing chamber is of two types: it handles both capsules and ground coffee, depending on what you have at hand. A ceramic heating element with PID control takes care of the temperature, which, according to the manufacturer, keeps the water stably at 92 °C. One cup is ready in approximately 45 seconds, and the device can also perform cold extraction, so you can prepare cold brew in the summer. Battery for a few cups, or hundreds? Here, attention is needed. The brand entices with the number up to 400 cups on a single charge, but this only applies when you pour pre-heated water into the coffee maker and the battery only powers the pump. As soon as you let the device heat cold water itself, you will realistically only get a little over three cups – and that is a fundamental difference. In an emergency, you can also connect it to a regular power bank. The whole unit is also covered by IP55 resistance against dust and water, the brewing chamber can be removed and rinsed, and the package includes a case, an aluminum stand, a metal coffee basket, and a measuring spoon. The brand includes a double-walled stainless steel mug right away. Price and Availability The Mijia Portable Coffee Machine will launch in China via crowdfunding on June 17. The recommended price is 799 yuan, which is approximately 2,500 Czech crowns; those who join at the start will get it for 559 yuan (about 1,700 Czech crowns), a fifth cheaper in conversion. Xiaomi has not provided details on pricing or availability outside of China. Recently, Xiaomi has brought a number of products, not necessarily smart ones, under the Mijia brand to us, but it is not clear how this will be the case for this particular item.
