Xiaomi is now testing HyperOS 3 based on Android 15 on these older phones. Do you own any of them?

Chinese giant Xiaomi has begun internal testing of HyperOS 3 based on Android 15 on a total of twelve devices. The information was reported by XiaomiTime, which refers to Mi Community test records. Unfortunately, for many phones on the list, this will be the last major system update, meaning an end to support for new features.

Complete list of tested devices

According to leaked test logs, Xiaomi is currently testing HyperOS 3 based on Android 15 on these devices:

• Redmi Note 13 5G (Global, EEA, Turkey, China – OS3.0.0.2.VNQMIXM)
• POCO F5 Pro / Redmi K60 (China – OS3.0.0.4.VMNCNXM, Global – OS3.0.0.1.VMNMIXM)
• Xiaomi 13 Lite / Civi 2 (EEA – OS3.0.0.1.VLLEUXM)
• Xiaomi MIX FOLD 2 (China – OS3.0.0.1.VLRCNXM)
• Xiaomi 12T Pro / Redmi K50 Ultra (China – OS3.0.0.1.VLFCNXM)
• Xiaomi 12 Pro (China – OS3.0.0.1.VLBCNXM)
• Xiaomi 12S Ultra (China – OS3.0.0.1.VLACNXM)
• Xiaomi 12 (China – OS3.0.0.1.VLCCNXM)

From the test versions, it is evident that the Redmi Note 13 5G is closest to the final version – its global build OS3.0.0.2.VNQMIXM is reportedly almost stable and ready for public release.

Last update for older models

For most devices on the list, HyperOS 3 with Android 15 will be the last major update – after its release, they reportedly will not receive HyperOS 3.1. Phones will only receive security patches and minor bug fixes, but no new features or system improvements.

An interesting case is the Redmi Note 13 5G, which, according to official Xiaomi information, will end with Android 15, while its more expensive siblings from the same series, such as the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, will still receive Android 16. This decision is related to the support policy, where basic models receive shorter software support than Pro versions.

Which devices are still waiting

XiaomiTime also published a list of phones that do not yet have any test version of HyperOS 3, but their update is still expected:

• Xiaomi 12S
• Xiaomi 12S Pro
• POCO F5 5G
• POCO M6 Pro
• Redmi Note 12 Turbo
• Xiaomi 12T

If your device is not on either list, the chances of getting HyperOS 3 are minimal. Xiaomi usually does not start testing on devices that were not included in the first test waves.

What HyperOS 3 will bring

The new HyperOS 3 system based on Android 15 brings several improvements. Users can look forward to smoother animations, better memory management, and a more optimized system. For newer phones that will later also receive Android 16, HyperOS 3 will only be an interim step towards further updates. However, for older models, it represents the final chapter of their software support.
