Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro is rumored to get an 11,000mAh battery. A more powerful Pro Max model is also emerging above it

That the Xiaomi Pad 9 series will bet on serious endurance, we wrote about already at the beginning of August – the then leak counted on a 9,720 mAh battery for it. However, fresh information from the same leaker pushes the capacity even higher for the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro model, to a full 11,000 mAh.

Where did the 11,000 mAh number come from?

Behind the new numbers is again the Chinese informant Digital Chat Station, who published partial specifications on Weibo for a tablet that apparently corresponds to the Pad 9 Pro. Besides the battery, he also mentions 67W charging, which matches earlier data from Chinese certification. Compared to the first leak, which spoke of 9,720 mAh for the Pro version, this is a significant jump, so take this new value with a grain of salt for now.

What is the Pad 9 Pro expected to offer?

The display is expected to grow to a 12.5-inch LCD with 3.2K resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate – a somewhat larger diagonal than an older leak suggested (11.16 inches). Inside, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is expected to tick, which Qualcomm showed last November; it’s a 3nm upper-mid-range chip, so there should be no shortage of performance.

The fact that Xiaomi is sticking with LCD even for a more expensive tablet may not be bad news – the panel handles high brightness and is not prone to burn-in, it just cannot match OLED’s deep blacks.

And what about that mysterious Pro Max?

The new series is likely to expand to three models. According to the leak, the Pad 9 Pro is expected to fit just below the top-tier Pad 9 Pro Max, whose official premiere we expect in September. And the Pro Max is the biggest draw: instead of a Snapdragon, it is expected to be powered by its own Xiaomi XRING O3 chip with a deca-core processor and clock speeds up to 4.35 GHz. According to another certification, the top model could get a 13.3-inch display and up to 120W charging.

Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the launch date, prices, or whether any of the tablets will officially arrive in the Czech Republic. However, the Pad 9 series is leaking in parts every week, so we probably won’t have to wait long for more tidbits.
