Xiaomi is expanding its range of robot vacuum cleaners with the new Robot Vacuum 5 series, which includes two models adapted to different needs. The top-tier Robot Vacuum 5 Pro becomes the brand’s most powerful model on the Czech market, surpassing the current leader, the X20 Max, whose price has historically dropped below 10 thousand Czech crowns a few times. It has an integrated camera that allows you to monitor what’s happening at home even from the other side of the world, and top-notch suction power.

AI recognizes over 200 objects and 47 types of dirt

The Robot Vacuum 5 Pro features an advanced system of three cameras – an RGB camera, two infrared cameras, and an infrared 3D projector. Thanks to this equipment, it can recognize over 200 different objects, including USB cables, socks, or plant leaves. The system simultaneously identifies up to 47 types of dirt and automatically adjusts the cleaning strategy accordingly.

For example, when it detects pet food, it lifts the mopping pads and switches to vacuuming only. For spilled drinks or soups, it activates intensive mopping. For remote home monitoring, an integrated 5Mpx HD camera allows real-time checking of pet activities. Thanks to dual LED illumination, the vacuum cleaner can monitor its surroundings even in low light conditions.

20,000 Pa power more than doubles X20 Max

While the previous flagship X20 Max offered 8,000 Pa of suction power, the new Robot Vacuum 5 Pro boasts an impressive 20,000 Pa. This more than twofold increase in power means the vacuum cleaner can easily remove even stubborn dirt from deep carpet fibers or tile grout.

Both models share an extendable mop arm for cleaning along walls, but the Pro version additionally features an extendable side brush. The combination of both elements ensures 100% corner coverage and cleaning with millimeter precision.

Hot water 80 °C versus 55 °C for X20 Max

A significant difference can also be found in the docking station. The Robot Vacuum 5 Pro washes mopping pads with water at a temperature of up to 80 °C, while the X20 Max only reaches 55 °C. Higher temperatures more effectively remove greasy stains and bacteria. Furthermore, hot air drying takes only 2 hours compared to 3 hours for the older model.

The Pro version also offers intelligent detection of mop dirtiness using sensors. When the system detects heavy soiling, it automatically initiates repeated washing without user intervention. Both stations feature a 4-liter clean water tank, sufficient for mopping up to 400 m².

Hair cutting technology eliminates tangling

A new feature is the main brush with hidden blades, which automatically cuts hair and pet fur during cleaning. This technology significantly reduces tangling and maintenance – the manufacturer states 99% hair collection efficiency. The X20 Max offers a similar function, but only as an optional accessory, whereas it is standard in the new series.

Both vacuum cleaners use a dToF retractable radar, allowing them to clean under furniture as low as 9.5 cm. The mopping pads automatically lift by 15 mm when carpets are detected (X20 Max only by 10 mm), which better protects even high-pile carpets from getting wet.

Cheaper Robot Vacuum 5 without AI cameras

The basic model Robot Vacuum 5 retains the same 20,000 Pa power and dToF retractable radar as the Pro version. Instead of AI cameras, it uses S-Cross structured light technology for obstacle avoidance. It lacks the 5Mpx camera for home monitoring and advanced dirt type recognition.

However, the standard model’s docking station still offers 80°C hot water washing and fast 2-hour drying. The extendable mop with a side brush for thorough edge cleaning is also retained. For most users, it thus represents an optimal price-to-performance ratio with significantly higher suction power than the previous X20 Max.

Mobile control and smart home integration

Both models are controlled via the Xiaomi Home app, which allows remote cleaning, setting forbidden zones, or scheduling regular cleaning. The vacuum cleaners support voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant and integration into smart home systems, enabling connection with other devices.

In the app, you will also find detailed cleaning statistics, consumable status, and the option to customize cleaning intensity for individual rooms.

Price and availability

Xiaomi has also shared the official Czech prices. The fully equipped Robot Vacuum 5 Pro will cost 17,999 CZK, while its sibling lacking certain features will be available from 14,699 CZK.
