Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 24. 9. 2025 14:30 Advertisement Chinese technology giant Xiaomi is expanding its portfolio of smart home appliances available in the Czech Republic. The company today officially confirmed that it will bring its first smart refrigerator to the domestic market, fulfilling a promise made earlier this year. The Mijia Refrigerator Cross Door 502L model will arrive in local stores by the end of 2025. Xiaomi continues its expansion beyond mobile phones In the Chinese market, Xiaomi has already established itself as a significant player in the home appliance segment. The company regularly expands its offering, which includes not only refrigerators of various sizes and configurations, but also other kitchen appliances such as dishwashers, induction cookers, and coffee makers. The launch of the smart refrigerator on the Czech market represents an important step in the company’s global strategy, which aims to build a complete ecosystem of smart home devices. In recent years, we have seen robotic vacuum cleaners, air purifiers, and kitchen appliances here; now it’s time for large home appliances. Along with the refrigerator, the company also showcased new air conditioners and a washer-dryer at a conference in Munich, Germany. Smart refrigerator with advanced features The American-style Mijia Refrigerator Cross Door 502L primarily impresses with its large storage space and flexible arrangement. The total volume of 502 liters is divided into a refrigeration compartment (297 liters), a freezer compartment (176 liters), and a special “i Fresh” convertible zone (29 liters). The convertible zone is one of the most interesting features – its temperature can be set between -1 °C and 5 °C, allowing storage to be adapted for various types of food. At around 0 °C, it’s ideal for meat and fish; at higher temperatures, for fruits, vegetables, or delicacies. The refrigerator also features Ag⁺ Fresh antibacterial technology, which uses silver ions to eliminate unpleasant odors and suppress the growth of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. According to the manufacturer, this contributes to longer food freshness and a healthier environment inside the refrigerator. Smart control and modern design As a truly intelligent appliance, the Xiaomi refrigerator offers connection to a home Wi-Fi network and control via the Xiaomi Home app. Users can remotely change temperature settings, select between Auto, Super Cool, and Super Freeze modes, or monitor the appliance’s status. The refrigerator even sends an alert if the doors remain open for more than two minutes. For even more convenient control, there is also support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice assistants. From a practical perspective, the design with the ability to open doors to a 90-degree angle is pleasing, allowing the refrigerator to be placed flush against a wall without restricting access to drawers. Quiet and energy-efficient operation is ensured by dual inverter technology (inverter in both the fan and compressor) with a 10-year warranty. Availability and price The Xiaomi Mijia Refrigerator Cross Door 502L will arrive in Czech stores by the end of 2025. The price has not yet been set, but given Xiaomi’s overall policy, it can be expected to be very competitive. We are pleased that Xiaomi is enriching our market with large smart appliances, which have been missing here for many years. Now it remains to be seen whether they will catch on with local consumers or not. Would you be interested in a smart refrigerator from Xiaomi?
