Xiaomi surprises: Cheap Redmi 15 novelties with an absolutely massive battery quietly arrived in the Czech Republic

Xiaomi quietly introduced a pair of models under the Redmi brand to the Czech market – Redmi 15 and Redmi 15 5G. Both phones are already being sold by some local retailers, with their biggest attraction being an above-average large battery with a capacity of 7000 mAh. The new products also impress with a redesigned rear side featuring vertically arranged lenses resembling a traffic light.

Massive battery as the main competitive advantage

The 7000 mAh capacity ranks both models among phones with the longest endurance on the Czech market. For comparison – most current smartphones in this price category offer batteries around 5000-6000 mAh. As for charging, up to 33W power is supported.

A large battery naturally affects the device’s dimensions. Both models have dimensions of 171 × 82 × 8.55 mm and a weight of 224 grams, which is slightly more than competing phones. Nevertheless, it’s a reasonable compromise for exceptional endurance.

New design resembles a traffic light

The most significant change compared to previous generations is the redesigned rear camera module. Two lenses along with one dummy lens are arranged vertically one below the other in a rectangular cutout, creating the impression of a metaphorical traffic light. This design element gives the phones a more modern and elegant look, which may evoke Samsung smartphones in some.

Both models offer a 6.9-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. The high refresh rate ensures smooth animations and a better gaming experience. The phones are also protected by IP64 certification against dust and splashing water.

Performance adapted to the price category

The basic Redmi 15 model is powered by the Snapdragon 685 processor with 4G network support, while the more expensive 5G variant relies on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. Both chipsets provide sufficient performance for everyday use, social media, and less demanding games. Photography is handled by a 50Mpx main sensor complemented by a second lens.

The phones run on the latest HyperOS 2 system, which is based on Android 15. The fingerprint reader is located in the side power button, which is a practical solution for quick unlocking.

Prices start at four thousand

At the authorized Mi Store, the Redmi 15 is sold in two configurations. The basic 6/128GB version costs 3,999 CZK, while the improved 8/256GB variant costs 4,499 CZK. Three colors are available – purple, black, and titanium gray.

The model with 5G network support, Redmi 15 5G, is currently sold only in the 4/128GB configuration for 4,999 CZK. It is available in three colors – black, green, and titanium gray.
