According to information from China, the company is expected to unveil the new Redmi Note 15 series in August, with the most advanced model, the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus, already appearing in a certification database.

What do we know about the upcoming Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus?

The certification record currently only reveals the model designation “25080RABDC“, which corresponds to the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus model. Although the database does not provide any further technical details, Chinese tipsters are coming forward with the first specifications.

The top-of-the-line model is expected to offer a curved display with 1.5K resolution, the camera is said to use a significantly larger main sensor than its predecessor, and it should also be equipped with a telephoto lens for better zoom quality, making it one of the few mid-range phones to feature one.

Other promised new features include a “super large battery” and increased water resistance. Sources do not directly mention the chipset, which is usually one of the key pieces of information that gets released early.

First China, then the rest of the world

It is important to note that the August launch will only concern the Chinese market. We will have to wait longer for the global premiere, likely until 2025. Furthermore, Xiaomi traditionally adjusts the specifications between the Chinese and international versions, so the final form of the phones for our market may differ significantly. Personally, I hope that this time we will get the version with a telephoto lens, as last year’s model had it in China, but the version that reached us did not.

The Redmi Note series is key for Xiaomi – with the Note 14 alone, the company announced surpassing 20 million units sold within the first six months.

What to expect from the rest of the family?

We do not have any specific information about the other models in the Redmi Note 15 series yet. However, it can be assumed that Xiaomi will maintain its current strategy and introduce the basic Redmi Note 15, the improved Note 15 Pro (5G), and the top-tier Note 15 Pro Plus. In some regions, we may also see other variants optimized for local markets.

If Xiaomi adheres to its usual schedule, we could see the global version of the Redmi Note 15 around the turn of 2025/2026, roughly half a year after the Chinese premiere.
