OnePlus’s departure from global markets was certainly a big blow to the community around this brand, and now it seems we might lose another, very community-loved smartphone brand. According to unconfirmed reports, Nothing is set to withdraw from a total of 12 global markets.

Will we lose Nothing?

Nothing, founded by Carl Pei after leaving OnePlus, is experiencing tough times and, due to a memory crisis, has already canceled the release of the successor to the successful affordable smartphones of its sub-brand CMF. As a result, CMF has not released any models this year, and even the parent company’s phones are not doing particularly well. Although the brand experienced 105% year-on-year growth in India, overall sales figures are not very flattering. Around 20,000 units of the Nothing Phone (4b) model were reportedly sold in less than two months, and only 150,000 units of the more advanced Nothing Phone (4a) and (4a) Pro since March.

Among other things, as a result, the company reportedly decided to make significant cuts. Firstly, it is expected to lay off 30-40% of its employees from its development center in England and 50% in China, which in itself does not bode well for the number of new products. Furthermore, the brand is even expected to withdraw from at least 12 global markets. This report is unofficial for now and does not specify particular countries. However, it is believed to include the Middle East, Japan, and unspecified parts of Europe. The availability of Nothing brand models in our market is thus also at risk.
