You don’t have to spend several thousands for a smartwatch with a large AMOLED display and calling directly from your wrist. Alza is now selling its WOWME Prisma watches for 999 CZK, and you don’t need a discount code for it. They have never dropped below a thousand before.

Quick summary:
✅ Makes sense if you want your first smartwatch for notifications, steps, sleep, and calls with a large, easy-to-read display.
⚠️ Consider that calls and location are handled via the phone, they don’t have NFC for payments, and Alza does not recommend them for swimming.
💡 For 999 CZK you get a watch that cost 1,999 CZK throughout October and, in the year that HlídačShopů has been tracking them, has not been cheaper than 1,183 CZK.

1.99-inch display and a week without a charger

The dominant feature is the 1.99-inch AMOLED display with Always On function, which you won’t miss on your wrist. The watch weighs only 38 grams, and the body is made of plastic. You control them by touch and a crown on the side, which you use to navigate the menu or switch watch faces.

Alza states eight days of battery life with typical use. The 30-day figure found in the specifications applies only to power-saving mode, where the watch displays time, date, and battery status. They charge with the magnetic cable included in the package.

Health functions include heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, stress, and respiratory rate measurement; they also track sleep phases and remind you to drink water. There are 100 sports modes. Data is collected in the VeryFit app and can be sent from there to Health Connect, Apple Health, Strava, or Fitbit. Additionally, Prisma pairs with both Android and iPhone. The strap has a standard width of 22 mm with quick-release, so you can replace it with any other of the same type.

You can make calls from your wrist, but your phone must be nearby

The watch has a microphone and a speaker, but calls are handled via the paired phone – they function as a hands-free device on your wrist. Therefore, the mobile phone must be within Bluetooth range. It’s the same with GPS: Prisma takes its location from the phone, so you won’t record a running route without your phone in your pocket.

Also, be careful with water. The watch has IP68 protection and 3 ATM water resistance, which Alza itself describes as protection against rain and hand washing. For swimming, Alza recommends the Prisma+ GPS model with 5 ATM resistance and built-in GPS. NFC for payments is not listed in the specifications, and one customer confirms this, so you won’t be able to pay at the checkout with the watch.

Those who want GPS directly in their watch can look at the sister model WOWME Nexus, which we wrote about in July when they cost 995 CZK. However, Alza now wants 1,790 CZK for them.

Customers praise battery life, but some have experienced defects

On Alza, the watch has a rating of 4.2 out of 5 from 41 customers, and 76% of them recommend it. Over 1,000 units have been sold, with a complaint rate of 3.64%. The most frequent praise in reviews is for the long battery life, low weight, and easy pairing with a phone. One customer bought them for his wife instead of a Samsung watch, which she didn’t wear because it was always dead, and according to him, she now wears them daily. Another customer appreciates the large display, having bought them for a senior.

Drawbacks appear less frequently but are more serious. One owner describes frequent disconnections, a non-functional microphone during calls, and two warranty claims; additionally, after draining, the watch reverted to factory settings. For another, it stopped working after six months and constantly restarts. Another customer misses a night mode, stating that the display always shines white.

For 999 CZK for casual users, athletes should look elsewhere

Prisma makes sense primarily for someone who wants their first smartwatch for notifications, steps, sleep, and occasional calls, and doesn’t want to charge it every night. For 999 CZK, it’s also suitable as a gift for parents or grandparents who would appreciate the large display.

However, if you run without your phone, go swimming, or want to pay with your watch, Prisma won’t be enough for you. In those cases, it’s worth paying extra for a model with its own GPS, higher water resistance, and NFC.

Are notifications and long battery life enough for you from a smartwatch, or can you not do without built-in GPS?
