New Windows 11 update speeds up your computer and fixes critical bugs Home News The June update KB5094126 brings the so-called Low Latency Profile to Windows 11 for snappier system response When opening the Start menu or launching applications, the processor will spike to maximum for 1–3 seconds, then slow down again The package also patches 206 security vulnerabilities, including a critical vulnerability rated 9.8 out of 10 Sdílejte: Jakub Kárník Published: 12. 6. 2026 02:30 Advertisement Among tech enthusiasts, Windows 11 has earned a reputation as a system that tends to hinder users rather than serve them. Microsoft has been trying to rectify this in recent months, and the June update KB5094126 is the most tangible proof yet. Instead of more Copilot buttons, it brings something users truly want – faster system responsiveness. Low Latency Profile: a brief processor burst at the right moment Faster Search and 206 Patches to Boot Low Latency Profile: a brief processor burst at the right moment The main new feature is the Low Latency Profile. The trick is actually simple: as soon as you click on the Start menu, search, action center, or launch an application, the processor immediately jumps to its maximum clock speed for one to three seconds and then returns to power-saving mode. Previously, it had to gradually increase its frequency according to the rising load, which manifested as that annoying stuttering. macOS and Linux have been using a similar technique for years – so Windows is more catching up. The biggest difference will be felt by owners of older and weaker computers; on powerful setups, the effect will be less noticeable. The catch is that Microsoft is enabling the feature gradually, and you won’t find any official indicator in the system. You can verify it with the free tool HWiNFO – if the processor frequency briefly spikes to maximum when you open the Start menu, the profile is active. Task Manager reacts too slowly to such short spikes. Faster Search and 206 Patches to Boot However, the update for versions 24H2 and 25H2 (builds 26100.8655 and 26200.8655) offers more. Search now displays results after just two characters are entered, and downloads from the Microsoft Store have also sped up. Among the minor improvements are support for the camera in multiple applications simultaneously, the Shared Audio feature for broadcasting sound to two Bluetooth LE headphones at once, the option to name your user folder during a clean installation as desired, and NPU utilization monitoring in Task Manager. However, you won’t see the most important change. Microsoft patched 206 security vulnerabilities, many of which were rated critical. The most severe of these (CVE-2026-45657) allowed remote code execution at the system kernel level and received a score of 9.8 out of 10. So, definitely don’t delay with the update – even if a faster Start menu leaves you cold. Are you noticing a snappier response on your Windows 11 computer after the update?
