Galaxy A26 owners could only watch as even the cheapest Galaxy A07 entered the One UI 9 beta test. But they no longer have to wait for the stable version. Samsung has started releasing One UI 9 with Android 17 for Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A17 LTE, two of the most affordable A-series models. The update is currently appearing in Asia, but for the A26, according to SamMobile, it looks like the beginning of a global rollout.

Galaxy A26 skipped the beta and is directly receiving the stable version

As SamMobile points out, the Galaxy A26 was missing from the One UI 9 beta program. Its owners are therefore transitioning directly to the final version. The update with firmware A266BXXUCDZJ6 first arrived in the Philippines, and other countries should follow. When it will arrive in the Czech Republic is not yet clear.

Galaxy A17 LTE launches in Korea, a few days after the 5G version

For the Galaxy A17 LTE, sometimes also referred to as A17 4G, Samsung is starting at home. The update with firmware A175NKSU7DZJ3 is being released first in South Korea and, according to SamMobile, should reach other regions within a few days. It comes just a short while after the Galaxy A17 5G received One UI 9.

Both phones join a long line of Samsung devices that are gradually receiving the new overlay. The Galaxy S23 series also recently received it, and is now downloading One UI 9 in Europe as well.

Customizable Quick Panel and Location Tracking Notifications

After the update, you will mainly notice the quick panel, which you can customize more than before. The phone will also now show a privacy indicator when an app is currently using your location. The Samsung Notes app and accessibility features have also received improvements.

The phone will notify you of the new version automatically. Those who don’t want to wait can check availability manually in Settings > Software Update.

Galaxy A26 and A17 LTE still await four major updates

Both models launched with One UI 7 and Android 15, and Samsung promised them six major system updates. According to SamMobile, One UI 9 is the second of these for both, with One UI 8 bringing the first. This means four more new Android versions remain, and the next one will bring One UI 10 with Android 18. Before that, a smaller One UI 9.5 overlay should also arrive.
