WH-1000XM6 drivers in a gaming guise

The main argument is the sound. Inside are the same 30mm drivers as in the flagship Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones, which is an unusual luxury for a gaming headset – the SoundGuys editorial team describes the H9 II directly as an adaptation of the XM6 for gamers. In games, this means clear reproduction across frequencies and precise localization of footsteps, while outside of games, they are headphones with which you can normally listen to music.

The second argument is comfort, and it’s mentioned even more frequently in reviews. 260 grams is 57 grams less than the previous generation, and Sony redesigned the headband to a more flexible construction with better weight distribution. The earcups are made of breathable mesh with deeper padding, so they don’t press on the ears, and they can be replaced when they wear out.
