Garmin's CIRQA Smart Band Pro leaks. The band is said to get two buttons and a speaker

Garmin apparently has a second display-less band in preparation. The name Garmin CIRQA Smart Band Pro appeared in the code of the latest version of the Garmin Connect app, along with traces of two buttons and audio functionality – it looks like a more feature-rich variant of the band that sold out of the brand’s warehouses this summer.

The most obvious clue is one of the text prompts in the Garmin Connect app. It states that you “set alarms on your CIRQA Smart Band Pro in the Garmin Connect app.” The line was highlighted by Gadgets & Wearables, which dug through the latest version of the app. The same reference also appears in two consecutive versions (5.28.1 and 5.29), so it’s likely not just a random error that would appear in one release and disappear in the next.

Even more interesting is that the app also separately mentions a regular “CIRQA Smart Band” without the Pro suffix. Both names thus exist side-by-side in the code – and that’s a strong argument against it being just an accidentally appended suffix to an already sold model. The CIRQA itself first appeared through the Connect code, which we wrote about this spring. Garmin has not yet commented on the unannounced hardware, but leaks from its app code have repeatedly proven accurate in the past.

Why are two buttons mentioned?

The basic CIRQA arrived this summer as Garmin’s very first display-less band and has a single side button – you start an activity with a single press. However, the prompts in Connect talk about “any of the buttons”: a vibrating alarm can reportedly be silenced by pressing any of them, and turned off by holding any of them. Such a formulation only makes sense for a device that has at least two buttons.

The code also distinguishes between two specific buttons – the “activity button” and the “control button.” The first is meant to start, pause, and end an activity, while the second opens an additional menu and reads out daily statistics.

The band might also have a speaker

The mentions of sound raise the most questions. One of the prompts describes volume adjustment – the activity button is supposed to increase it, the control button to decrease it, and the user reportedly waits for the volume to be confirmed. Another text states that holding the control button activates the assistance function, which you cancel by holding any button until you hear “Canceled.”

Volume adjustment, reading out statistics, and audio confirmation together suggest some form of audio feedback. However, it’s not possible to tell from the app’s code whether this would be a built-in speaker, another type of audio hardware, or sound played through a connected phone. It’s also worth noting that the surrounding instructions are not explicitly labeled “Pro” in the code – but their placement and phrasing refer to the same device quite convincingly.

The latest app version (5.29) also adds new code for recognizing devices from the CIRQA family, which is another sign that Garmin is actively developing this line. We don’t yet know how much the Pro version would cost or when it might arrive. The basic model sells for 4,990 CZK in our country.
