Last year’s Samsung TV models are constantly getting cheaper, and this QLED model is no exception. The 65″ Samsung QE65Q8F has now dropped to 13,990 CZK from 20,990 CZK with code ALZADNY20, which is less than half of last year’s launch price of 29,990 CZK. If Samsung products suit you, this will be a great buy, even if it has certain shortcomings compared to competitors (such as TCL).

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you want a large 65″ 4K QLED with vibrant colors and a smart system at a reasonable price.
⚠️ Consider if you’re not looking for a 120Hz panel for gaming or perfect blacks like OLED – the Q8F is a QLED with a 60Hz panel.
💡 For 13,990 CZK, you get a lot of TV for your money – compared to last year’s launch (29,990 CZK), you save over half.

Why this TV is interesting

The Samsung QE65Q8F is this year’s QLED model that has dropped to a price more typical of entry-level series. It relies on a Quantum Dot panel with 100% color volume, so colors remain vibrant even at higher brightness, and on PANTONE certification for accurate color reproduction. The image is handled by the Q4 AI processor, which calculates details and upscales older content closer to 4K. For 13,990 CZK, you get a very large diagonal and features for relatively little.

Key parameters in plain language

The base is 4K resolution 3840 × 2160 on 65″, which is pleasantly sharp even from a shorter distance on such a large screen. The QLED panel is complemented by HDR10+ (Quantum HDR+) and local dimming, giving you decent contrast and depth for both movies and series. An important note for gamers: the panel runs natively at 50/60 Hz, so it’s not a 120Hz gaming TV, although gaming features like Motion Xcelerator or AI Game Mode are present.

Practical aspects: ports, system, design

Connectivity includes 3× HDMI with eARC, 2× USB-A, LAN, optical output, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.3. The One UI Tizen system offers Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Apple AirPlay 2, and Samsung promises 7 years of software updates, ensuring the TV remains up-to-date for a long time. A bonus is the integrated SmartThings hub with Matter support for controlling smart home devices directly from the TV.

The AirSlim design with a thin profile and three-sided bezel-less construction looks good both on the wall and on a stand (VESA 400 × 300, weight with stand 21.2 kg). A nice detail is the SolarCell remote, which charges with light and doesn’t require disposable batteries. The energy class is E with a typical consumption of around 85 W.

What to watch out for

The main compromise is the 60Hz panel – if you want to play at 120 fps on a console or PC, this TV cannot do it, and a Neo QLED or OLED with a higher refresh rate would be a better choice. The Q8F is also a classic QLED, not Mini LED or OLED, so blacks are not as perfect, and you might see subtle light bleed in high-contrast scenes. The built-in 20W stereo sound is rather weak for a 65″ TV – for movies, it’s advisable to purchase a soundbar (with Q-Symphony, the TV and soundbar speakers play together). Also, be aware that the full Art Store library and some features require a subscription or a Samsung account.

When it doesn’t make sense

If you are a demanding gamer and want 120 Hz or insist on perfect blacks without light bleed, opt for an OLED or Neo QLED instead – just be prepared for a higher price. Similarly, if you don’t want to deal with external audio and rely purely on built-in speakers, the 20W audio will seem insufficient for a large screen. However, for regular movie watching, series, and 4K streaming, these reservations won’t bother most people.

Verdict: who it’s worth it for

For 13,990 CZK instead of 20,990 CZK (and less than half of last year’s price of 29,990 CZK), you get a large 65″ 4K QLED with vibrant colors, a capable smart system, and long software support. It’s a good choice for movies, series, and streaming, where it will serve a wide audience excellently. However, hardcore gamers aiming for 120 Hz and lovers of OLED blacks would do better with a more expensive category.

Are you choosing a TV mainly for movies and series, or do you also need a 120Hz panel for gaming?
