Robotic lawnmowers handle open lawns perfectly, but problems usually start near walls, under trees, and on slopes. This is precisely where the Mammotion LUBA 4 AWD is aimed – a new flagship that the manufacturer showcased at the IFA 2026 trade fair in Berlin, combining four cameras, LiDAR, and all-wheel drive to handle even gardens where an ordinary lawnmower would get stuck.

How does the Mammotion LUBA 4 AWD navigate the garden?

At the heart of the new product is a navigation system that the manufacturer calls Quad-Vision. It combines a 360-degree LiDAR, NetRTK satellite positioning, and four wide-angle cameras covering the front, sides, and rear of the machine – a first for the LUBA series. Thanks to these, according to Mammotion, the lawnmower can recognize more than 300 types of objects and recalculates its route on the go to avoid even moving obstacles.

The entire system works without a buried boundary wire, which defined property limits for older robotic lawnmowers. You don’t need to build a separate guidance station – the manufacturer adds the iNavi NetRTK service for free for the entire lifespan of the lawnmower. This allows the machine to travel in straight lines even across a large lawn and should not get lost even under dense tree canopies or at dusk.

Turns without digging into the lawn

Most robotic lawnmowers have to turn in place at the end of each row, which repeatedly grinds the same patch of turf and leaves brown circles. The LUBA 4 AWD has each front wheel driven by its own steering motor, allowing it to turn in a smooth arc, with the wheels rolling rather than skidding sideways.

The bidirectional drive goes even further: at the end of a strip, the lawnmower simply changes direction and continues mowing without turning completely by 180 degrees. According to the manufacturer, this reduces pressure on the lawn and the risk of bald spots.

All-wheel drive even on an 80% slope

Terrain is the second challenge the new product is designed to handle. Intelligent torque management sends power to the wheels with the best traction, so according to Mammotion, the lawnmower can traverse roots, slippery, or uneven surfaces without spinning its wheels. The all-wheel drive can handle slopes of up to 80 percent (38.6°), overcome obstacles with a diameter of 60 millimeters, and mows at a speed of up to one meter per second – parameters where many two-wheel drive mowers fail.

Mows right up to fences and flowerbeds

Mowing the middle of the lawn is easy, but narrow strips near walls, fences, and flowerbeds are problematic – often leading people to reach for a string trimmer. Mammotion therefore offers an optional edge-trimming module, allowing the lawnmower to cut closer to the edges during regular operation (though it cannot be combined with the 12000F model). The mowing itself is handled by a high-torque motor with a power output of 165 W for each six-blade disc, whose RPM can be increased for a cleaner cut or decreased for quieter operation and longer endurance.

How much can it mow and when will it arrive in the Czech Republic?

The lawnmower will come in three versions based on property size: 3000F for lawns up to approximately 3,000 m², 6000F for up to 6,000 m², and the top-tier 12000F for up to 12,000 m². The basic models have two cutting discs and a cutting width of 440 mm, while the largest 12000F adds a third disc and extends the cutting width to 530 mm. A 210 W charger with adaptive charging ensures quick energy replenishment. The lawnmower calculates the remaining area, charges just enough to complete the job, and then resumes mowing on its own.

Pre-orders for the three models are set to start in the fourth quarter of 2026. The manufacturer has not yet announced the specific price for the Czech Republic, so it remains to be seen how much we will pay for the smartest LUBA lawnmower.
