Millionaire calculated that GTA 6 will save you thousands of dollars. Just stay home and play every night

We bring you the perfect excuse on a silver platter as to why you’re sitting at your console again instead of having dinner with friends. Financial influencer Mark Tilbury, who likes to refer to himself as a self-made millionaire, filmed a video on TikTok with a calculator in hand. According to him, GTA 6 will not cost you money, but rather save it for you. And not just a little.

An hour in Leonida for 11 crowns

In the video, Tilbury picks up a display box of GTA 6 in a store and starts calculating. According to him, the game costs 99.99 dollars, and the main story takes about 80 hours, which makes it 1.25 dollars per hour of entertainment. Add side missions and roaming the open world, and you get to 200 hours, which is 50 cents (about 11 crowns) per hour. However, the game’s creators have not yet revealed the game’s length, so Tilbury is likely basing his figures on preliminary estimates and leaks.

Then comes the main point. Anyone who plays four hours every evening needs 50 evenings for 200 hours. If, instead, you went out every evening and spent 100 dollars on food, drinks, and entertainment, 5,000 dollars would disappear from your wallet in the same amount of time (almost 110 thousand crowns). The saving therefore only applies to someone who would otherwise spend approximately 2,200 crowns every evening for seven consecutive weeks. Insider Gaming dryly notes that Tilbury has a calculator with him, so it’s clear he knows what he’s talking about. Ironically, of course.

The catch is also that GTA 6 is releasing on November 19th only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Anyone who doesn’t own a console and wants to buy one for the game will start with a significant deficit (especially with today’s hardware prices). And critics on Reddit and TikTok remind us that time spent in a game is only valuable if you truly enjoy it. However, fans don’t seem worried about that, as according to a survey, almost one in three American players wants to buy GTA 6.
