New Galaxy Tab S12 tablets are coming to Czechia. The base model is missing this year

Samsung introduced a new generation of premium tablets. This year, the Galaxy Tab S12 series only has two models: the 14.6-inch Ultra and the 12.6-inch Plus. The smaller base version, which launched the Tab S11 series last year, is missing this time. The cheapest way to the new generation is through the Plus model for 31,999 CZK. Both tablets will go on sale on October 7.

Ultra: same body, new engine

Anyone holding last year’s Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra won’t notice the difference at first glance. The new Ultra has the same dimensions of 208.5 × 326.3 × 5.1 mm, the same weight of 692 grams, and the same battery with a capacity of 11,600 mAh. Although Samsung calls it the thinnest tablet in its history, it is exactly as thin as its predecessor. The changes happened inside.

Instead of the Dimensity 9400+, the tablet is powered by the 3nm chip MediaTek Dimensity 9500. According to Samsung, it brings a 19% more powerful processor, 17% faster graphics, and a 61% more powerful artificial intelligence unit. These are manufacturer’s figures; independent tests are not yet available. A new spatial vapor chamber is designed to dissipate heat better, which should reduce slowdowns during prolonged loads, such as video editing.

Plus grew

The smaller model underwent a more significant transformation. The Galaxy Tab S12+ received a display with a diagonal of 12.6 inches, slightly larger than the Tab S10+, and thinner bezels, thanks to which the body practically did not grow. It measures 5.3 mm, weighs 553 grams, and the battery has increased to 10,600 mAh. Compared to the Ultra, it only has one rear camera and Wi-Fi 6E instead of Wi-Fi 7.

Display, sound, and pen included

Both tablets feature a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120 Hz and brightness up to 1,600 nits. The Vision Booster feature, which adapts the image to ambient light, now changes brightness smoothly, not in jumps, according to Samsung. The sound is newly quad-channel. The tablets are water and dust resistant according to the IP68 standard, and an S Pen is included in the package, just like last year without Bluetooth, so it does not support remote gesture control. Neither a charger nor a keyboard is included in the package. With a 45W adapter, the Ultra charges from zero to 100% in 95 minutes.

Photoshop and Gemini for trial

The tablets run on Android 17 with One UI 9, and Samsung promises seven years of system and security updates. The display can be split into up to three windows. An interesting feature is Adobe Photoshop adapted for tablets, which will be exclusively available in the Galaxy Store for at least six months. Owners of the Tab S12 series will receive four months of free subscription. Additionally, half a year of Google AI Pro and trial versions of Goodnotes, Notability, or Clip Studio Paint applications will be added. However, be aware of the end of trial periods: Google AI Pro will automatically renew after six months for 549.99 CZK per month if you do not cancel the subscription in time.

Czech prices: more expensive, but with cashback

Samsung admitted that the new tablets are approximately 15% more expensive than the previous generation. The difference is offset by cashback: whoever buys a tablet between October 7 and December 31, 2026 and registers it within 14 days in the Samsung Members app will receive back 10,000 CZK for the Ultra and 6,000 CZK for the Plus. A third year will be added to the two-year warranty for free.

For comparison: last year’s Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra with 256 GB can be found in stores today for around 27,000 CZK, which is roughly the price of the new model after cashback.
