New King of Endurance? Oppo to fit 10,000 mAh battery into surprisingly thin body

With the advent of Si/C batteries, a minor revolution has occurred in the field of smartphone battery capacity. A prime example is the upcoming Oppo A7 Pro Max. It is set to offer a whopping 10,000mAh battery while maintaining a modest thickness. In addition, it will also feature a new Snapdragon chipset from Qualcomm.

Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 and 10,000mAh

The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset is designed for affordable phones. The manufacturer boasts especially about its 4nm manufacturing process and a 77% higher graphics performance generation-on-generation. The chipset also supports up to 144Hz displays and even 4k video recording. On the other hand, it has taken a step back in terms of memory, supporting only LPDDR4x. Qualcomm is thus clearly reacting to the current memory crisis.

However, we do not yet know how much RAM or storage the new Oppo A7 Pro Max will offer. The mentioned 10,000mAh battery is then built into a body with a thickness of just 8.47 mm, and the weight should reach 226 grams. Such a large battery then requires sufficiently fast charging, in this particular case with 80W power. Other phone features should include a 6.78″ AMOLED display with 1.5k resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. There will even be an in-display fingerprint reader.

The rear setup is expected to be somewhat more modest, consisting of a 50MP main camera and a 2MP auxiliary sensor. For now, we have no information about the launch date or potential global availability. It is also possible that a modified model with a smaller battery will reach the European market. However, in the mentioned configuration with an efficient chipset, it could truly be the absolute king of endurance on a single charge among regular smartphones.
