O2 has a widespread internet outage. Reports are coming in from all over the country Home News O2 customers have been reporting widespread fixed internet outages across the entire country since Monday evening Over 1,600 reports have been collected in the last 24 hours, the vast majority concerning internet connection We also observed the outage in our editorial office, and we have contacted the operator for a statement Sdílejte: Jakub Kárník Published: 11. 8. 2026 04:30 Advertisement If your internet from O2 hasn’t been working since yesterday evening and you’re fruitlessly restarting your router, you’re not alone. According to the monitoring server Vypadky24.cz, over the past twenty-four hours, over 1,600 reports have been gathered from dissatisfied customers, with the first ones arriving in the afternoon and the peak occurring at 8:00 PM, when 310 reports appeared within a single hour. The problems persist at the time of writing this article. Internet yes, TV only marginally Verified in the editorial office: one connection works, the other doesn't Customers mainly complain about the silence We have contacted O2, the article will be updated Internet yes, TV only marginally The distribution of complaints is quite clear. 96 percent of reports concern internet connection, with the remaining four percent related to TV services. Calls and mobile phones are practically absent from the overview, which distinguishes this outage from previous ones where the operator’s entire mobile network went down. This time, it primarily concerns fixed connection. The affected areas cover the entire country – reports are coming from Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Pilsen, Olomouc, Kladno, Zlín, Příbram, Kolín, and České Budějovice. Therefore, it is not a local fault of a single route, but a problem of a broader nature. Verified in the editorial office: one connection works, the other doesn’t We verified the outage ourselves. One of our editorial team members in Central Bohemia reports non-functional internet and TV since yesterday afternoon. However, an interesting detail they encountered is that at the same address, they have two connections, and while the one registered to a private individual is non-functional, the second one – registered to a business account – works without problems. This is a noteworthy observation. It suggests that the cause is not in the physical infrastructure, i.e., a broken cable or damaged route, but rather somewhere in the operator’s systems. However, we cannot be certain until O2 issues a statement. Customers mainly complain about the silence Growing frustration is evident from user reports, not so much from the outage itself as from the communication. Complaints are emerging that it’s impossible to reach the customer helpline and that the operator is not actively informing about the problem, despite having emails and an application available. Several people mention that the issues started on Sunday and significantly worsened from Monday evening. It should be added that these are unverified user reports, not official statistics. Monitoring services of this type operate on the principle of voluntary reporting, so absolute numbers should be taken with a grain of salt – their sudden increase compared to the usual state is more indicative. We have contacted O2, the article will be updated We have contacted the operator for a statement. As soon as we receive a response, we will update the article. Until then, only one thing can be recommended – restarting the modem is worth trying once, but if the problem persists, it is not a fault on your end, and repeated resets will not improve the situation.
