Xiaomi is taking Czech kitchens by storm! Its capsule coffee machine will be available for purchase soon

You probably already know that Xiaomi doesn’t just produce smartphones and its influence extends far beyond into other areas of everyday life. Specifically, the manufacturer has primarily released kitchen appliances in its home country of China, but in recent years, it has managed to bring many clever products to our market as well. Now, the brand is preparing to launch another device that, while it doesn’t have Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and thus won’t communicate with your mobile phone, might still interest you.

Co kapslový kávovar Xiaomi zvládne?

The coffee machine’s pressure is handled by an ULKA pump with 19 bars from the Italian manufacturer CEME – the same type found in more expensive home machines. Xiaomi promises preheating in just 25 seconds thanks to a 1,360 W heater, and a combination of a temperature sensor and smart regulation is designed to maintain a balanced water temperature, which, according to the manufacturer, preserves the taste without unnecessary bitterness.

It prepares two preset volumes – 40 ml for espresso and 110 ml for a longer lungo – which you can also save according to your own taste. With dimensions of 33.2 × 9 × 21.2 cm, it takes up about as much space on the counter as a sheet of paper, the water tank holds 650 ml, and the manufacturer states the noise level during preparation is 55 dB. A nice detail is the magnetic holder for 20 capsules, which attaches to the side of the machine or, for example, to the refrigerator door; the device automatically switches off after ten minutes of inactivity.

Nespresso capsules (likely) fit the machine

Xiaomi na svém webu neuvádí, s jakým systémem kapslí je kávovar kompatibilní, technické parametry ale poměrně jasně naznačují, že půjde o kapsle Nespresso Original. Tlak 19 barů i objemy 40 a 110 ml přesně odpovídají tomuto formátu.

This is good news for you, because the selection is huge: from original Nespresso capsules to brands like L’Or, Lavazza, or Starbucks, all the way to cheaper private label supermarket brands. However, keep in mind that Dolce Gusto, Tassimo, or Nespresso Vertuo capsules will not fit the machine – they differ in shape and preparation method.

Price and Availability in the Czech Republic

A teď to hlavní. Oficiální českou cenu sice Xiaomi zatím neoznámilo, kávovar se ale už objevil v katalozích několika menších tuzemských prodejců. Nejčastěji ho nabízejí v rozmezí zhruba 2 200 až 2 600 korun, tedy o kousek výš, než jsme původně odhadovali. Zatím se však nebavíme o oficiálním oznámení českou pobočkou Xiaomi, takže konečná cena i reálná dostupnost se ještě můžou změnit.
