Amazfit Helio Strap Pro expands the range of wearable display-less sensors. The new product targets athletes who combine cardio and strength, and for the first time collects data not only from the wrist but also from the waist. The manufacturer announced the band on June 18, and pre-orders are expected to start shipping around June 25.

What can the Helio Strap Pro do?

The system consists of two modules. According to Amazfit, the wristband (Helio Core Motion HR) features the BioTracker 6.0 optical heart rate sensor, a nine-axis motion sensor, and newly, skin temperature measurement. It can handle over 50 sports modes, recognize twenty-five strength exercises, and monitors sleep including REM phase, heart rate throughout the day, blood oxygenation, and stress.

The second sensor is worn on the waist. According to the manufacturer, this sensor is designed to estimate the mechanical load on individual muscle groups during exercise and focuses mainly on the HYROX format, which combines running and strength stations. The manufacturer states a battery life of up to eleven days for the wristband, up to forty-four days for the waist module, and 5 ATM water resistance.

How is it better than the original Helio Strap?

The main advancement is in the sensors. The original Helio Strap had a six-axis motion sensor in the band; the Pro version adds a geomagnetic sensor, bringing it to nine axes. Skin temperature measurement is also new, which the earlier model did not have. However, the biggest change is the additional waist module – this was completely missing from the first Helio Strap.

However, the manufacturer will charge for the new features. While the original band cost 99.99 dollars, the Helio Strap Pro set with two modules will cost 199.99 dollars. The5krunner server also points out that the waist sensor currently only works in HYROX Race and HYROX Simulation modes and requires an Amazfit Balance 3 or Balance Ultra watch. Therefore, according to them, the upgrade makes sense mainly for those who race or train specifically for HYROX. None of the functions, however, require a paid subscription.

Most likely won’t officially arrive in the Czech Republic

For domestic interested parties, we have less pleasant news. The previous Helio Strap did not officially reach the Czech market, and it seems it will be the same for the new product. The band is currently sold mainly on Amazfit’s US website, where it costs 199.99 dollars – roughly 4,600 Czech crowns when converted, but without customs duties and tax. Those who want it will most likely have to rely on imports from abroad.

Is a display-less band that also measures muscle load worth it for you?
