Bizarre of the Day: GTA 6 Fan Monitors Rockstar's Surroundings, Measures Oxygen Levels, and Counts Smoked Cigarettes

Waiting for GTA 6 does strange things to people. While most fans are refreshing Rockstar’s social media, one of them has approached the hunt for the third trailer as an intelligence operation. A Reddit user going by the nickname Then-Pomgegranate-625 had previously eavesdropped on the Rockstar North studio headquarters in Edinburgh and monitored its parking lot. Now he has taken his “research” to a level that defies comprehension.

Oxygen, Decibels, and Cigarette Butts as a Source of Leaks

The self-proclaimed spy is now analyzing oxygen levels, noise, and the number of cigarette butts around the building. The logic is simple, at least in his head: if developers are working overtime, even on weekends, for a big announcement, it should manifest in the air composition, higher noise levels, and a larger pile of cigarette butts in front of the entrance. The icing on the cake is monitoring footwear – more expensive shoes supposedly signal the presence of company management.

Update 2: This is getting ridiculous. He started counting cigarettes that are left outside the Rockstar HQ to track stress, and he believes stress levels are high after counting 71 cigarettes over 19 hours. With 11 cars present, and an average of 2/10 people being smokers.

So far, he has only dared to publish oxygen measurements. The measured fluctuations are below one percent, and the author himself admits that the data is not particularly reliable. Which is probably the most sober sentence of the entire experiment.

The Community Is Just Laughing Now

While some of the community took earlier car counting in the parking lot at least somewhat seriously, the oxygen theories are now met with pure ridicule. The post is spreading across Reddit and X, serving mostly as a comedic interlude for most fans in an otherwise endless wait. Rockstar traditionally remains silent – and the third trailer will arrive when they decide in Edinburgh. Regardless of how many cigarette butts are lying in front of the building.
