It equipped its pocket camera with a gimbal with a second sensor, so the Pocket 4P can zoom in on the action without losing image quality. Sales are starting in China; only a teaser is currently displayed on the Czech website. Two cameras instead of one. The telephoto lens changes how you’ll use the camera The main new feature is the second lens. Alongside the 1-inch sensor with a wide-angle lens (20 mm, f/2.0), a telephoto camera with a 60 mm focal length and f/1.8 aperture on a smaller 1/1.28″ sensor has been added. Thanks to it, the Pocket 4P will offer 3x optical zoom and up to 12x digital zoom – so you don’t have to crop distant objects with lossy digital zoom. In practice, this means you don’t have to hold the camera close to your face to fill the frame. Vlogging is possible from a greater distance, and portraits appear more natural because a longer focal length compresses the perspective. The previous Pocket 3, however, managed with a single lens. What the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P offers The main sensor captures photos with a resolution of 37 Mpx and records video in 10-bit with the D-Log2 profile. It can handle slow-motion shots in 4K at up to 240 frames per second; the manufacturer states a dynamic range of up to 17 stops for the main sensor – however, this is a figure from DJI’s laboratory, so expect some leeway in practice.
