Instant photos, which emerge from the device and you hold them immediately, are experiencing a boom again – and Fujifilm is sending another addition into this wave. The instax mini 13 camera will start selling in Czechia on June 25, 2026, for 2,299 CZK and, in addition to a more playful look with a metallic silver logo, it mainly entices with a new self-timer, with which you no longer have to entrust photography to someone else.

What the instax mini 13 offers

The new model follows the mini 12 and sticks to a proven recipe: point, shoot, and in a few seconds, you have a finished photo in your hand. You turn the camera on and off by simply rotating the lens, and the same movement switches it to Close-Up mode for shooting close-up details.

The features include a selfie mirror, automatic exposure, and automatic flash control, which, according to the manufacturer, fine-tunes the shot in both bright and low light. Parallax correction is also present – in Close-Up mode, the viewfinder aligns with the lens, so the subject won’t escape the frame, and the detailed shot will be perfectly centered.

Self-timer: you can be in the photo too

The biggest change compared to its predecessor is the self-timer. You can activate it with a delay of 2 or 10 seconds, and in the meantime, you can put the device down – the included accessory helps with proper orientation, so you can level the shot without needing another person’s hand. A group photo where you’re not missing this time, or a selfie without a awkwardly stretched arm, are finally compromise-free thanks to this.

It is precisely the self-timer that makes the mini 13 a pleasant entry into the instax world. It encourages experimenting with light, poses, and scenes without having to learn anything complicated.

Improved instax UP! app

Along with the camera, the free instax UP! app also receives an update. It serves to scan, sort, and store instant photos in one place, regardless of which instax film or device you use. Scanning is now handled by artificial intelligence, which, according to the brand, distinguishes the image itself from the background and surrounding interference, making the resulting scan cleaner and more accurate.

New Pastel Galaxy film

Along with the camera, a new instax mini Pastel Galaxy instant film is also heading to the market, featuring a cosmic motif, shimmering decorations, and soothing pastel colors. A pack will cost 299 CZK including VAT and will go on sale on the same day as the camera itself.

Price and availability

The instax mini 13 instant camera will go on sale on June 25, 2026, for a recommended price of 2,299 CZK including VAT, in five color variants: Dreamy Purple, Frost Blue, Candy Pink, Lagoon Green, and Clay White. The Candy Pink variant is already available for pre-order on Alza. The aforementioned Pastel Galaxy film will also arrive on the same date for 299 CZK.

Would you get an instax mini 13, or are photos on your phone enough for your memories?
