Giant 40,000mAh ChoeTech power bank discounted to a minimum. Charges three devices simultaneously

A weekend at a cottage, a festival, or a week camping, and a phone that’s begging for an outlet by the end of the second day. A power bank is perfect for such moments, allowing you not to have to save every percentage point. The ChoeTech PD22.5W Digital Power Bank with a capacity of 40,000 mAh costs 669 CZK on Alza during the Black Friday sale and has never been cheaper there.

Quick summary:
✅ Makes sense if you need to charge your phone, tablet, and headphones for several days without an outlet.
⚠️ Consider its weight of 800 grams and that you cannot charge a laptop with it.
💡 For 669 CZK you get a large energy reserve at a price it has never been sold for on Alza before.

40,000 mAh Capacity and Three Outputs

The main attraction is, of course, the capacity. The description on Alza promises several full charges for a phone or tablet and dozens of charges for smaller devices, such as headphones. However, the exact number will depend on the size of your phone’s battery, and some energy is always lost during transfer.

There are two USB-A outputs and one USB-C, so you can charge three devices simultaneously. According to Alza, the USB-A ports offer the highest power of 22.5 W, while the USB-C output can handle up to 20 W via USB Power Delivery. This means you can charge an iPhone quickly, but Android phones that support 25 W or more will charge slower than with their original charger. If you connect more devices, the power bank will distribute the power among the ports, so each device will charge slower.

The battery status is shown on a display with the percentage of remaining capacity, so you don’t have to guess based on LEDs. You charge the power bank itself via USB-C, and a cable with a USB-C connector is included in the package. There’s also a loop on the body, making it easy to pull out of a backpack.

Only a Handful of Reviews So Far

Alza customers give the power bank an average of 4.4 out of 5, and 83% of them recommend it. However, these are only six ratings and four written reviews, so it doesn’t yet provide a reliable picture of its long-term durability. Over 200 units have been sold, though.

Won’t Charge a Laptop and Only Allowed on a Plane with Approval

Large capacity comes with a price. The power bank weighs 800 grams and measures 15 × 6.8 × 5.3 cm, so you won’t be able to slip it into a jacket pocket. Furthermore, the 20 W USB-C output is too little for charging a laptop. Anyone who wants to charge a laptop as well must opt for a more powerful model. You’ll also need patience when charging the power bank itself: the input can handle a maximum current of 2.4 A, so you’ll likely be charging such a large battery overnight.

Also, be careful with air travel. Alza does not state the capacity in watt-hours, which airlines use as a guideline. At a typical cell voltage of 3.7 V, it would be approximately 148 Wh, which is above the 100 Wh limit for power banks allowed in carry-on luggage without airline approval. A larger unit must be arranged with the airline in advance. Frequent flyers would do better with a smaller power bank – for example, the 20,000mAh Vention model, which we wrote about previously.

Best for Cottages and Power Outages

For 669 CZK, it’s a reasonable choice for cottage owners, campers, and festival-goers who need to charge their phone and headphones for several days in a row. It’s also suitable as a home backup in case of a power outage or for a family where multiple people share one power bank. On the other hand, if you’re looking for something light for your pocket, for frequent flying, or for a laptop, you won’t find the right choice here.

Would you take such a large power bank to a cottage or camping?
