A flagship Pixel through and through, just with more compact dimensions, making it fit better in the hand. That’s exactly what the Pixel 11 Pro is, the smaller sibling of the model we thoroughly tested in the summer. Alza has now discounted it to CZK 22,990 as part of Black Friday, a 22% reduction, and will also include an original case worth CZK 1,369 with the phone.

Quick summary:
✅ It makes sense if you want decent cameras and clean, long-supported software
⚠️ Consider that battery life is rather average, Tensor G6 doesn’t reach peak performance, and you won’t find an adapter in the box.
💡 At CZK 22,990, it’s CZK 6,500 less than its regular price.

Alza has never sold the Pixel 11 Pro this cheaply before

According to HlídačShopů, the Pixel 11 Pro with 256 GB storage cost CZK 29,490 on Alza since its launch in August. The only exception was three days in September (19–21 Sep), when it briefly dropped to CZK 25,067. The current price is therefore approximately 2 thousand lower than the previous minimum, and you save CZK 6,500 compared to the regular price.

As a bonus, you get the Google Pixel 11 Pro Case in Obsidian, which normally costs CZK 1,369. Anyone who would buy a case anyway will thus save a little more in the end.

It has the same cameras, chip, and software as the Pixel 11 Pro XL

The Pixel 11 Pro is essentially a smaller version of the Pro XL model. Therefore, much of what we described in our Pixel 11 Pro XL review also applies to it. Inside, you’ll find the same Tensor G6 chip, 12 GB RAM, and an identical trio of cameras: a 50Mpx main, a 48Mpx ultrawide, and a 48Mpx telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom.

In practice, this means very faithful colors, nice portraits, and noticeably faster Night Sight than on older Pixels. Portraits can now also be taken with the telephoto lens. The “30x superzoom” boasted in the product description is, however, digital zoom enhanced by artificial intelligence, so details at such a distance should be considered more as computed than truly captured.

The software is also identical. The phone runs on Android 17, Google promises 7 years of updates, and you’ll also get new features like Magic Capture, smart voice dictation Rambler in Gboard, or new creator tools in the camera. The back also features the colorful HiLight indicator, which can notify you of an incoming call from favorite contacts, for example.

Smaller display, smaller battery, and slower charging

The differences compared to the Pixel 11 Pro XL revolve around size. The Pixel 11 Pro’s display measures 6.3 inches with a resolution of 2856 × 1280 pixels, while the XL has 6.8 inches and 2992 × 1344 pixels. Both have a 120 Hz refresh rate and high brightness.

A smaller body also houses a smaller battery: 4,850 mAh versus 5,115 mAh in the XL. The Pixel 11 Pro charges via cable at up to 30 W, while the larger model handles 45 W. According to Alza’s description, you’ll replenish 55% of the capacity in about half an hour. On the other hand, the Pro is lighter – weighing 205 grams, compared to the XL’s 226 grams. It has Qi2 standard accessory magnets in its body, just like its larger sibling.

Battery life is not a strong suit even for the Pixel 11 Pro XL (in the review, I got about 4 hours of screen-on time with it). The smaller Pro with a smaller battery will therefore likely not be a marathon runner either, and you’ll want to have a charger handy in the evening.

Tensor G6 still doesn’t catch up to the competition in performance

Those looking for the most powerful phone will be disappointed. Tensor G6 still lags behind Snapdragon or Dimensity chips in competing flagships in terms of raw performance. Everyday use is smooth, but exporting video in Google Photos editor takes longer than you’d expect from a phone at this price. Video itself isn’t the strongest discipline for Pixels either – those who primarily shoot video will get smoother lens switching and more reliable focusing from an iPhone.

Also, keep in mind that some of the advertised AI features do not work in the Czech Republic. Proactive Gemini suggestions or real-time audio translation cannot be launched due to regional and language restrictions, and the HiLight indicator currently only does two things: notifies of a call from a favorite contact and blinks during a conversation with Gemini. Furthermore, the tested XL unit refused to connect calls a few times, and only a restart helped (hopefully, this was a software bug that Google will fix). The charging adapter is also missing from the package.

At CZK 22,990, it makes sense mainly for photographers who find the XL too big

Those who will benefit most from the discount are those who want a top-notch camera and a clean system for many years, but find the large XL too big for their hand. Typically, these are people transitioning from an older generation Pixel or a standard-sized iPhone, who primarily photograph children, trips, or the evening city. Thanks to seven years of updates, it’s also a phone that can truly last you a long time.

On the other hand, anyone who plays demanding games, shoots a lot of video, or wants a phone with above-average battery life should look elsewhere. However, at CZK 22,990, the Pixel 11 Pro is a much more reasonable purchase than at its regular price of CZK 29,490.

Would you rather go for the smaller Pixel 11 Pro, or the large XL?
