Last year’s Watch Fit 4 series smartwatches from Huawei gained attention primarily due to their design, which strikingly resembles popular Apple models. The Chinese manufacturer apparently intends to stick to this strategy, as the upcoming successors in the form of Watch Fit 5 and Watch Fit 5 Pro look practically identical. Before the official presentation, specifications and renders have now leaked online, so we know what to expect from the new products. We owe this to WinFuture.

Watch Fit 5: brighter display and newer Bluetooth

The basic Watch Fit 5 model retains its 1.82″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 480 × 408 pixels and a density of 347 PPI. However, compared to its predecessor, it will offer a higher maximum brightness of 2,500 nits, which represents a quarter increase compared to 2,000 nits on the Watch Fit 4. The display is protected by lithium, aluminum, and silicon composite glass.

The watch case is made entirely of aluminum alloy and weighs only 27.5 grams without the strap. According to leaked information, Huawei is betting on ecological materials for the basic model – specifically, 100% recycled aluminum and nylon straps made from entirely recycled material.

Among the technological innovations, the support for Bluetooth 6.0 is worth mentioning, replacing the older version 5.2. The watch also features NFC and dual-frequency GPS with support for GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS systems. IP6X certification guarantees dust resistance.

Watch Fit 5 Pro: larger display and premium materials

The Pro version brings more significant improvements. The most notable change is the increase in display size to 1.92 inches, while the resolution remains the same. The panel utilizes LTPO OLED technology, which allows for a dynamic refresh rate, and the maximum brightness reaches 3,500 nits. According to leaked materials, this is the highest screen-to-body ratio in the entire history of the Fit series, specifically 83%.

The construction combines an aluminum main frame with a titanium bezel, and the display is protected by sapphire glass. The watch weighs 31.6 grams, about a gram more than the current generation Watch Fit 4 Pro. Compared to the basic version, the Pro model also offers water resistance up to 40 meters deep for free diving.

Features include a depth gauge for divers and an ECG function for measuring the heart’s electrical activity. Both features remain exclusive to the Pro version; the basic model will not offer them.

Shared features and battery life

Both variants share a 471mAh battery, which should last up to 10 days in power-saving mode, 7 days with typical use, and 4 days with an active always-on display. Compared to the current generation, these are the same values, so Huawei has not increased the battery size.

Regarding sensors, the manufacturer mentions TruSense technology, which includes an accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, barometer, body temperature sensor, optical heart rate sensor, and ambient light sensor. The watches will support dozens of sports modes and offline maps.

Pricing and availability

The Huawei Watch Fit 5 should cost 199 € (approximately 4,800 CZK) and will be available in black, white, silver-green, and purple. The Pro version will cost 299 € (about 7,300 CZK) in black, white, and orange variants. Compared to their predecessors, they will see a slight price increase. We will have to wait for the official Czech prices.

The exact launch date is not yet known, but given the completeness of the leak, an official unveiling can be expected in the near future. The previous generation Watch Fit 4 debuted last May.
