Last year, in the Windows ARM notebook segment, we saw higher prices and a short list of available models. This year, the market has opened up, and prices are starting to fall to a level that makes sense even outside a narrow circle of enthusiasts. Asus Vivobook S 14 S3407QA priced at 14,490 CZK after entering code ALZADNY30 is among the most affordable Copilot+ PC notebooks on the Czech market — and yet it offers features that a year ago belonged to the category above twenty thousand.

Quick Summary:
Makes sense if you are looking for a light notebook for regular office work, long typing sessions, online meetings, and streaming with extreme battery life.
⚠️ Consider that the integrated Adreno X1-45 graphics can only handle basic games and older titles at low resolution. The ARM version of Windows still has limited compatibility with some older or professional applications — before purchasing, check if your work software runs through the Prism translation layer.
💡 For 14,490 CZK you get a 14″ WQXGA IPS display (2560 × 1600) with anti-glare finish and 100% sRGB coverage, an 8-core Snapdragon X, 16 GB LPDDR5x RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, a 70 Wh battery, a backlit keyboard, an IR camera for Windows Hello, two Thunderbolt ports, Wi-Fi 6E, and an all-metal body weighing 1.35 kg.

What you get for under 15 thousand

Competition at this price point typically means compromises — either a weaker processor, less memory, or a plastic body. The Vivobook S 14, however, comes with an all-metal construction machined on CNC, a 17.9 mm profile, and a weight of under one and a half kilograms. MIL-STD-810H certification means the notebook has passed tests in harsh conditions — vibrations, thermal shocks, dust. The magnetic physical shutter in front of the webcam is a small detail that anyone who has ever taped over their camera will appreciate.

The 14″ display with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 and an aspect ratio of 16:10 offers a peak brightness of 400 nits and an anti-glare surface. It also features 100% sRGB color space coverage with TÜV Rheinland certification. The Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor with eight Oryon cores is weaker, but it offers sufficient performance for everyday work and browser multitasking.

ARM Windows in practice

The ARM version of Windows 11 is significantly further along today than it was two years ago, but it still has its limitations. Native applications (Microsoft Office, Edge, Chrome, Slack, Teams, Spotify, Photoshop, Lightroom) run without problems. Older programs run through the Prism translation layer, which, however, costs performance and battery. Professional software like CAD or some game engines still have issues with ARM.

So, who is the Vivobook S 14 ideal for? For students who want a light notebook with all-day battery life at school. For hybrid workers who need a machine for meetings, emails, and spreadsheets. For everyday users looking for a travel notebook. The 70Wh battery life, according to independent tests, reaches 28 hours of video playback, making all-day use without charging a realistic scenario.

Do you think an ARM notebook is worth half the price of Intel competition today, or would ARM compatibility deter you?
