If you have a decent gaming PC, it’s a shame to let its capabilities end with an old office monitor. With the MSI MAG 275CQDF X24, an upgrade doesn’t have to mean another big investment: Alza is now selling a 27-inch panel with QHD resolution and 240 Hz for 2,990 CZK. And it’s not just a chase for one high number. Besides fast gaming, you also get a sufficiently fine image for everyday work.

Quick summary:
✅ Makes sense for: A gaming PC, if you want a fast QHD monitor and keep your budget under three thousand.
⚠ Consider: The 400 Hz mode only works in HD. You cannot adjust the stand height.
💡 Utilize the full 240 Hz in QHD via DisplayPort. The corresponding cable is included in the package.

One monitor, two quite different modes

The basis is a curved Rapid VA panel with a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels. When gaming, you don’t have to sacrifice sharpness just to get a high refresh rate. On the desktop, finer fonts and more space for windows are useful. FreeSync Premium adapts the image refresh to the performance of compatible graphics when the frame rate in the game fluctuates.

An interesting bonus is Dual Mode: switch to 1280 × 720 pixels and the monitor can handle up to 400 Hz. This can be appealing for a fast competitive shooter, but significantly less so for text or beautifully rendered RPGs. At this diagonal, the lower resolution is clearly visible. Therefore, we consider QHD at 240 Hz to be the main reason for purchase; the faster HD mode is also for specific uses, such as playing Counter-Strike.

Where savings were made and what owners praise

The most visible compromise is not hidden in the menu, but under the screen. The stand allows it to tilt, but you cannot raise it higher to suit your stature. A VESA 100 × 100 mm mounting arm can help. A USB hub is also missing. Therefore, it is not a monitor that can replace a laptop docking station with a single cable; its main advantage is the image for gaming at an affordable price.

On Alza, the model currently has 4.8 out of 5 from nine ratings. In the available verified comments, owners appreciate the fast response and pleasant image quality for work. This is encouraging, but still a small sample; we cannot replace detailed motion measurements with this. Also, take the ‘HDR Ready’ designation with a grain of salt: with a stated brightness of 300 nits, we would choose this monitor mainly for regular gaming, not for impressive HDR.

When gaming, would you prefer a finer QHD image, or maximum speed at a lower resolution?
