Mapy.com will now show what's cooking where. You'll find the menu and daily specials at many restaurants

Lunch break is running, your stomach is rumbling, and you still don’t know where to go. Mapy.com now offers a simple solution: at selected restaurants, they will show the menu directly in the establishment’s detail, including the daily menu. You often won’t have to click through the websites of individual pubs and bistros to find out what’s cooking today.

You’ll find the menu right below the basic information

Finding it is easy. Just click on a restaurant on the map or in the search results, and a “Jídelní lístek” (Menu) bar will appear below the basic information about the establishment. After opening it, you will see the food offer, and if the restaurant serves a lunch menu, you will find that here too. Mapy.com itself presents the new feature as a helper to easily find out where to go for a meal.

Where does Mapy get its food offerings from?

Mapy.com does not compile the menus themselves. For most establishments where the menu is displayed, we have noted that it comes from the restaurant’s page on Menicka.cz. However, for some establishments, Mapy draws directly from the restaurant’s own website. It should be added that Mapy processes the content machine-wise using artificial intelligence, according to their own words.

In Prague, a surprisingly large number of establishments have a menu in Mapy

The official report speaks of “selected restaurants,” which sounds like only a handful of establishments. I was therefore worried that I would barely find a menu at every tenth restaurant. However, when testing in Prague, it appeared perhaps even at most of the establishments I clicked on the map.

For everyone who goes out for lunch near work, this is a practical shortcut. Instead of searching on several websites, you have location, opening hours, ratings, and the daily menu all in one application.

Will you now look for the daily menu directly in the Mapy.com application?
