Meta Muse, a new AI agent, is breaking records. How does it differ from ChatGPT?

Meta is celebrating a major triumph in the field of artificial intelligence. Its new personal AI agent, Meta Muse, has seen a rapid uptake in the USA and Canada. After the first 12 days, this AI tool has even recorded higher user interest than ChatGPT during the same period. Positive user reactions were also reflected in the stock market, where Meta’s shares rose by more than 11 percent.

Meta Muse is the new hit among AI agents

According to Apptopia analysts, the app recorded 2.8 million installs and 642 thousand daily active users on iOS and Android within 12 days. In the US App Store, it quickly climbed to the top of free applications. For comparison, ChatGPT, which launched only on iOS, gained 1.3 million installs in the USA and Canada during the same period, while Muse achieved 1.8 million installs in the same markets and on the same platform. On iOS, ChatGPT then recorded 231 thousand daily active users, while Muse already has 359 thousand.

ChatGPT from OpenAI excels primarily as a work and knowledge tool, handling everything from programming and data analysis to writing complex texts. In contrast, Meta has taken a slightly different path with Muse. It has created an autonomous agent designed for personal routines. Muse operates in an isolated virtual environment and can independently solve tasks for the user, even in the background. This includes planning trips, making restaurant reservations, or communicating via Whatsapp and Instagram. The agent can even handle purchases using single-use virtual cards.

However, Czech, or rather European, users will have to wait for the new feature. The application is currently available exclusively in North America. The reason, not surprisingly, is strict EU legislation, led by GDPR and the European AI Act. The agent’s direct access to private data, photos, and payment methods will require detailed legal scrutiny. Therefore, we will have to wait for the launch of Meta Muse within the European market. Currently, the agent works in both free and paid versions. Moreover, these versions have no functional limitations. You pay for AI tokens, which you consume by using the assistant.
