New Zenbooks from ASUS are coming to the Czech Republic! The smaller variant weighs less than a kilogram and has brutal performance

When Qualcomm introduced the first generation of Snapdragon X for Windows laptops two years ago, the result was lukewarm. Performance was decent, but it wasn’t for gaming, and application compatibility sometimes caused issues. However, according to initial tests, the second generation changed the rules — and Asus has just brought a complete line of new Zenbooks to the Czech Republic with it. On Alza, you will find six variants from 38,990 to 51,490 CZK, so the decision will be about how much you are willing to pay for an ARM laptop.

Quick summary:
✅ Makes sense if you need a thin and light laptop with extreme battery life and no compromises in performance. Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme beat both Intel Core Ultra 9 285H and Core Ultra X9 388H in tests.
⚠️ Consider that there are still applications that have problems with the ARM translation layer — especially professional CAD tools and some creative software. It’s not an ideal machine for playing AAA titles, even though it can handle Cyberpunk 2077 in 1080p Steam Deck mode at around 60 fps.

What Snapdragon X2 Elite truly brought

The main difference from last year’s generation is the graphics. The Adreno X2-90 in the X2 Elite Extreme is the first ARM GPU for Windows that can reasonably run games — on the Zenbook A16, you can run Cyberpunk 2077 in 1080p at around 60 fps. The processor part is even more impressive: in the Geekbench 6 single-core test, the X2 Elite Extreme achieved 3,500 points, multi-core 23,000.

The second big leap is battery life. Asus boasts multi-day operation, and reviewers measured over 25 hours of video playback. In addition, fast OLED displays — a 14″ with 1920 × 1200 resolution on the Zenbook A14 and a 16″ panel with 2880 × 1800, 120 Hz, and a peak brightness of up to 1,100 nits on the A16.

Six variants on Alza, prices from 39 to 52 thousand

Alza currently offers a complete range of new Zenbooks. The cheapest is the Zenbook A14 OLED216W (Iceland Gray) for 338,990 CZK — 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, but without an adapter. You get the same configuration with a power supply in the package for 40,990 CZK. The Zenbook A14 with 32 GB RAM costs 45,990 CZK, the top A14 variant with 1TB SSD and Windows 11 Pro at an introductory price of 51,490 CZK.

If you need a larger diagonal, there’s the Zenbook A16 OLED077W with a Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme processor, 48 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, and a 16″ OLED for 46,490 CZK.
