One UI 8 is coming to two more popular mid-range Samsung phones. Do you own one of them?

Samsung continues to distribute One UI 8 with Android 16 to more mid-range phones. This time, the update is coming to the Galaxy A33 5G and Galaxy A53 5G – two models that have gained considerable popularity in the Czech Republic thanks to their solid features at an affordable price.

Galaxy A33 and A53 receive Android 16

Both phones are currently receiving the stable version of One UI 8 in South Korea. The Galaxy A53 5G received firmware labeled GYI2, while the Galaxy A33 5G has version GYI3. The update size is around 2.5 GB and also includes the latest security patch.

Samsung usually distributes updates gradually by region. After South Korea, other Asian countries usually follow, and within a few days to weeks, the update will also reach Europe, including the Czech Republic.

How to check for update availability?

Galaxy A33 and A53 owners can manually check for update availability in the Software Updates section of Settings. If the update is not yet showing, just wait – Samsung distributes updates gradually. However, it will likely arrive in Europe in a few days.

Other phones with One UI 8

The Galaxy A33 and A53 are not the only mid-range phones receiving One UI 8 in October. Earlier this month, we reported on the update for the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34, which were among the first to receive the update. Samsung is currently also rolling out Android 16 to the Galaxy M34, M35 models and the rugged Galaxy XCover7 Pro.

One UI 8 brings new design elements, improved widgets, and a range of AI-powered features. All mentioned models should also receive One UI 8.5 in the future, which Samsung is preparing to launch alongside the Galaxy S26 series.
