Popular Samsung Galaxy A35 receives One UI 9. Update with Android 17 is now heading outside Korea

Owners of the popular Galaxy A35 have received another major update. According to SamMobile, Samsung has started rolling out One UI 9 with Android 17 for Galaxy A35 globally, with India being one of the first countries. The stable version has been available in its home country of South Korea since last week.

Beta testers and other owners are receiving the update

As SamMobile reports, the new version in India is heading to phones from the beta program as well as those that were not part of it. Both groups are receiving firmware A356EXXUBEZJ2, but the download size differs. Beta testers will download less than 370 MB, while others will get the complete package of approximately 2.75 GB. According to SammyFans, the update also includes the October security patch.

Customizable Quick Panel and redesigned Samsung Health

The main new feature is a quick panel that you can customize more than before. You can resize controls and separate the sound mode button from the volume slider. A new section dedicated to warranty and phone care has been added to Settings, and the system will now notify you when an app is currently using your location. The phone can also be locked securely faster, and Bixby conversations can now be searched, renamed, or pinned.

The Samsung Health app has also undergone a transformation. It has a cleaner look, home screen cards can be customized, and new features for tracking heart rate, sleep, and fitness have been added. The lock screen has also received new clocks that adapt to the wallpaper.

Galaxy A35 awaits only one more major update

The Galaxy A35 arrived on the market in spring 2024 with Android 14, and Samsung promised it four major system updates and five years of security patches. After One UI 7 and One UI 8, which arrived in the Czech Republic last year in early October, One UI 9 is already the third of these. Only one more remains, which should be One UI 10 with Android 18.

When the update will arrive in the Czech Republic is not yet clear. Samsung is releasing it gradually; so far, besides Korea, India is mainly receiving it. Your phone will notify you of the new version automatically, or you can manually check in Settings > Software update > Download and install.
