Oura Ring 5 is around the corner! A fresh leak revealed the alleged release date

When we informed you in March about the leaks of the Oura Ring 5’s appearance, it was expected that the smart ring would arrive on the market only at the end of 2027 – which is how this manufacturer’s release cycle usually looks. However, a fresh leak from Reddit suggests a much earlier launch. If the published internal company document is genuine, the new product will be introduced to the world as early as next week.

Unveiling as early as next week

A photo of alleged internal Oura company material has appeared on Reddit, which is surprisingly specific regarding the launch date. The fifth generation of the smart ring is expected to be unveiled on Thursday, May 28, exactly one week from today. On the same day, pre-orders are also set to begin, and the first units will reach customers on June 4.

The document is accompanied by photos of the ring itself and the charging case, both of which match the images from the March leak. This adds to its authenticity, although caution, of course, still applies. Unfortunately, the document does not include the price, so we will have to wait for the official announcement.

Smaller body, but same sensors

According to the description, Oura Ring 5 is supposed to be smaller and more comfortable to wear than its predecessor. However, regarding sensor equipment, the document states that it will offer “the same” health features as Ring 4. This is somewhat in contradiction with the March leaks, according to which the optical sensors were supposed to be significantly larger and supplemented with more LED diodes. It will therefore be interesting to see which of these perspectives ultimately proves accurate.

Instead of new hardware, Oura, according to the leak, is focusing on optimizing existing sensors – these should provide more accurate data while consuming less energy.

A practical new feature is also an improved charging case, which can fully recharge the ring up to four times in a row. On longer trips, this would theoretically eliminate the need to carry a traditional charger.

If the May 28 date is indeed valid, we will get definitive answers in a few days.
