The premiere of the new generation of Pixels is about two weeks away, and Google is stepping up its marketing in the meantime. In a new teaser for the Pixel 11 Pro, the Pixel Glow feature took center stage – a colorful light integrated into the phone’s camera island, which spins like a pinwheel in the advertisement. The official unveiling will take place on August 12.

You know the situation: your phone is lying face down on the table, and you have no idea if your boss is calling or if it’s just another offer popping up from an e-shop. Google wants to solve exactly this situation on its new model with a light that illuminates directly on the back of the phone. The company showed it for the very first time in the second teaser for the upcoming generation.

What is Pixel Glow and what will it be for?

Pixel Glow is a colorful light located on the back of the phone. According to a leak, which we wrote about already in the spring, it is supposed to light up when the device is lying screen down and something important is happening – typically, for example, when someone from your favorite contacts calls.

The second use targets Gemini: during a voice conversation with the assistant, the light is intended to serve as visual feedback, confirming that Gemini is listening and responding. Both functions, according to the leak, can be independently turned on or off in the settings, and the manufacturer will reportedly add a warning for users sensitive to flashing lights.

The next logical step for Google services users

In the advertisement, the camera follows the new Pixel 11 Pro, and a colorful circle resembling a pinwheel spins around the camera module. The whole thing is in the spirit of a campaign that aims to portray Pixel as “the next logical step” for anyone who already uses Gmail, Maps, Search, or the smart assistant Gemini.

Official debut will take place next month

Google will officially unveil the new product at the Made by Google event on August 12, when pre-orders will also begin. Anyone who subscribes to Google’s news by then is said to receive some exclusive offer – what exactly, the company is keeping secret for now.

But one thing we already know: it won’t be cheaper than last year. Google previously confirmed that the Pixel 11 series will get more expensive, and the base version with 128 GB of storage will apparently disappear from the offering entirely.
