With code ALZADNY20, you can now buy it on Alza for 3,352 CZK instead of the introductory 4,790 CZK, which is 1,438 CZK, or about 30%, lower than at the start of sales.

Redmi 17 was introduced in August for 4,790 CZK, and with the ALZADNY20 code, it now drops to 3,352 CZK, roughly 30% lower. Just before the current promotion, the price was 4,190 CZK.

We are talking about the variant with 128 GB storage and 4 GB RAM. The adapter is not included in the package – in the box, you will only find the phone, a USB-A to USB-C cable, a manual, and a SIM tool, so if you don’t have a charger with sufficient power at home, expect a small surcharge. However, for 3,352 CZK, it is still one of the cheapest ways to get a phone with such a large battery.

Two days on battery and a 35-minute charge

The main reason to consider the Redmi 17 at all is its 7,500 mAh battery capacity. This is a value you often won’t find even in phones five times the price. The manufacturer promises up to two days of normal use, over 91 hours of music playback, or almost 28 hours of video on a single charge. Realistically, this means that for a light user, the phone can easily last a weekend without a charger.

A large battery usually means long charging times, but here Xiaomi opted for 45W charging. According to the manufacturer, 35 minutes at the socket is enough for a full day’s power, and a full charge takes about an hour and a half. Additionally, the phone supports 22.5W wired reverse charging, so you can charge your headphones or watch from it. However, we remind you once again – to utilize the full 45W, you will need your own adapter.

Where Redmi 17 saved costs: display, RAM, and only LTE

The low price has to show somewhere, and with the Redmi 17, you’ll notice it mainly in the display. The panel measures a generous 6.9 inches and offers smooth 120 Hz and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, but the resolution remains only at HD+ (1,600 × 720 pixels). It’s sufficient for watching videos and general reading, but those accustomed to a sharp Full HD image may notice the difference with small text. Brightness up to 825 nits, according to the manufacturer, can handle reading in sunlight.

The second compromise lies inside. The octa-core MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra, along with 4 GB RAM, is a chip for undemanding operation – it can handle calls, messages, social networks, and lighter games, but don’t count on it for demanding titles and fast multitasking. According to the manufacturer, the memory can be expanded software-wise up to 8 GB, and storage can be supplemented with a microSD card up to 2 TB. It’s also worth noting that the phone only supports LTE networks, not 5G, which some people might mind for a 2026 phone, while others won’t notice.

Camera and features you wouldn’t expect for a few thousand

The camera is usually the first thing to be compromised on affordable phones. The Redmi 17 relies on a dual 50MP system with a main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture complemented by an auxiliary lens, while the front features an 8MP camera with an f/2.05 aperture. Both sides record video in Full HD at 30 frames per second, and there’s also a portrait mode and simultaneous recording from two angles. Don’t expect miracles for this price, but the features are sufficient for everyday photos for your phone and social media.

The rest of the features are a pleasant surprise. The phone has NFC for payments, a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio, and IP64 resistance against dust and splashing water, which is far from standard for the cheapest models. This is complemented by a side fingerprint reader, face unlock, and a design feature in the form of dynamic RGB backlighting on the back. It runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3 over Android.

Who the Redmi 17 for 3,352 CZK is suitable for (and who it isn’t)

The Redmi 17 is a clear choice for anyone who wants the cheapest possible phone that primarily lasts – as a reliable secondary mobile, a phone for seniors, a child, or for a cottage where chargers are harder to find. For 3,352 CZK with code ALZADNY20, you get a giant battery, 45W charging, and a well-rounded set of features including NFC and IP64, which are typically missing from the cheapest phones.

Conversely, if you expect a sharp Full HD display, gaming performance, or 5G from a phone, look for a more expensive model – these are the compromises the Redmi 17 makes, and for a few hundred extra, you can find a phone with higher resolution today. However, for those who prioritize battery and price above all else, it’s hard to find a better deal right now. The 1,438 CZK discount from the introductory price also makes this fresh new product an even more attractive offer.
