Until now, Samsung has primarily focused on mainstream listeners with its Galaxy Buds family models. However, the South Korean manufacturer is now preparing a model that has been missing from its offering. SamMobile published leaked illustrations of the Galaxy Buds On (or Galaxy Buds Able) earbuds, which clip onto the outer ear instead of going into the ear canal. The leaked images also suggest that Samsung has likely moved away from the previously mentioned bone conduction technology.

What are the Galaxy Buds On supposed to look like?

Ilustrace exkluzivně sdílel web SamMobile a mají pocházet přímo z jedné z aplikací Samsungu.

An open design, where the driver sits slightly in front of the ear canal instead of blocking it, is now offered by many brands – such as Bose Ultra Open or Soundcore earbuds under the Anker umbrella. Its main advantage? You can hear your surroundings even without transparency mode enabled, which is especially useful when running or cycling in traffic. With the Galaxy Buds On, Samsung would enter this specific segment for the very first time.

What happened to bone conduction?

We wrote about the upcoming earbuds this spring, when their icon appeared directly in the One UI code and they were referred to as Galaxy Buds Able. The initial rumors suggested that the model with the codename “Able” would rely on bone conduction – meaning sound transmission through vibrations across the cheekbones, allowing you to hear music without anything entering the ear canal.

However, the recently leaked illustrations rather refute this theory. They show a conventional open design with classic drivers, which has nothing to do with bone conduction.

When will the earbuds be revealed?

No one has confirmed the exact date yet. However, it is speculated that the Galaxy Buds On could be introduced alongside the Galaxy S26 FE phone – GSMArena points to a September event, while SamMobile speaks more generally about the second half of the year. Samsung has not yet revealed the price or Czech availability, and since this is just a leak, things may change before the final product.

Would you swap classic in-ear earbuds for ones that clip onto the outer ear?
