Xiaomi is expanding its most affordable series, and the Redmi 17 4G will also head to Czech stores. The editorial team of Svět Androida, based on two independent sources, found out how much the new device with a massive 7,500 mAh battery will cost, in two memory versions. Prices fell lower than a previous leak predicted, but they are still unpleasantly high, at least when compared to the previous generation.

What will the Redmi 17 4G offer?

The base consists of a large 6.9″ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2,340 × 1,080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate, so scrolling in the system will remain smooth. Performance is handled by the octa-core MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra, complemented by 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage with memory card support.

Photos will be handled by a 50Mpx main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, which, however, lacks optical image stabilization (OIS); next to it sits an auxiliary lens, and on the front, an 8Mpx selfie camera. The phone records video in FullHD at 30 frames per second.

The rest of the features correspond to a successful lower-mid-range device: a fingerprint reader in the side button, NFC for mobile payments, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, USB-C, and water and dust resistance according to IP65. The software, on the other hand, is fresh — the phone runs on Android 16 with the HyperOS 3.0 overlay. In terms of color, we only know about a green version so far.

The star remains the power: a 7,500 mAh battery with 45W wired charging support fits into the body. Compared to last year, this is a significant leap, but more on that in a moment.

How much will the Redmi 17 4G cost in the Czech Republic?

And now for the main point. As we managed to verify from two independent sources, the basic version with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage will be priced at 4,799 CZK in our country. For the better-equipped 4/256 GB configuration, you will pay 5,799 CZK.

An interesting comparison is with an earlier leak for the European market, which estimated the base model at around six thousand crowns. The Czech price is thus significantly more favorable than it appeared in the middle of the month.

Is it worth it compared to last year’s Redmi 15?

The biggest problem with the new model, however, is the fact that it will be more expensive. Its predecessor, the Redmi 15, could be purchased last September starting from 3,999 CZK, and that was for the 6/128 GB configuration — meaning with half more RAM than the base Redmi 17 will get. The new generation thus starts 800 CZK higher, while the cheapest version reduces RAM from 6 to 4 GB.

However, on paper, it’s not just a step backward. The battery has grown from 7,000 to 7,500 mAh, charging has sped up from 33 to 45 W, and the software is a generation newer. Ultimately, everyone will have to determine their own priorities.

Would you opt for the Redmi 17 4G, or are you bothered by the reduced memory in the base version?
